Without finding my scorecard from a decade ago, that's definitely not what I thought when watching it live.

Still, Floyd was ahead when the fight was stopped. Probably on just about everyone's card, including Lederman's.

    That's a bit of a different situation than Ward-Kovalev 2, I think.

That's what I'm talking bout. You wasn't watching the fight. You was too busy counting Kovalev's punches and missed the fight.

Actually, no. I relied on the CompuBox stats HBO and ESPN were giving out and I watched the fight as it took place without counting punches.

4-3 Kovalev with Ward controlling the momentum, he started the last 3 rounds with feint right hands that landed. His timing was getting sharper, while I would have opted to see Sergey fight the next round he was on his way to being TKO'd

It was quite a performance from Ward especially knowing Sergey was focused to dish outback hurt. Turns out Wards right hand was deadlier tonight. The body shots were controversial but belt line is acceptable nothing ever really hit the nutz

First time I had Kovalev up 5-2 going into the final foul fest.
Second time.....Kovalev 5-3, giving Ward and even rd in the 1st.

Yes, I did. And I scored it as I said in the first post.

I think that when these two fight, it's going to be like this. Varying scorecards, people looking at different judging criteria, etc.

What is a bit 'off' to me is that Kovalev seems to get the better of the punch stats yet he doesn't seem to get the same benefit from the judges.

But given that the fights were in the USA, I'm not really shocked.

The first two fights, IMO, are likely how any additional fights would look between these two guys if they were fought on USA soil.
