I doubt the ones who said Pac would ko'ed would post, but for the ones who realistically saw Pac winning....I think u guys deserve a liul shout-out. Post your pre-fight predictions here. Lemme start. here was mine--- This was my longest analysis of the fight...I didn't quite call the KO, but the fight followed my script pretty much how I envisioned it.
Pacman loses the first 3 rounds and Oscar keeps him on the outside. Through the middle rounds Pacman starts to get inside on Oscar and starts winning rounds. Oscar seems to be slightly fading and losing energy as Pacman poors it on. Oscar gets a flash knockdown in round 10 but Pacman gets up quickly and has Oscar trapped in a corner. Round 12 shows both men going all out and landing bombs until the bell rings. Manny wins by UD. 7 - 4 - 1 are the rounds in favor of Pacman.
My belief was that Pac would'nt be able to overcome the huge size and weight disparity.....I thought DLH would win rather comfortably and likely by KO....... However, like many, when I heard from the HBO broadcast team that DLH had only gained 2 pounds from the official weighin to his ringwalk, my thinking was that Pac could definitely win...... Here's a post and a link to the post dated a few days before the fight where I indicated my feelings about a Pac-DLH P4P match, which in essence is what this fight became when Pac actually outweighed DLH fighttime........ ........and the link to that post...... http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?p=2925319#post2925319 The Pac fan should know that my analysis of the fight was incredibly accurate once the matchup (unexplicably to most) became a P4P matchup!:heybbb
I predicted an Oscar decision, but gave Pac a big chance. Didn't think Pac could stop Oscar, but thought Oscar could stop Pac. I'm sure if many of us had've known what Oscar would show up, we would've changed our predictions slightly.
http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?p=2991239#post2991239 I was on target until Oscar decided to quit!
Well, I wrote this well before the 24/7 started, and people pretty much ripped my head off. Of course my point wasn't that PacMan shouldn't have taken the fight but was to put this fight in perspective and forget the historical significance, because as old as DLH is, there's little to gain here other than money. It wasn't a prediction for the fight, but pretty much of a good prediction of how the boxing community would react after an "upset" Manny Pacquiao victory.
