Post Your Personal P4p Top 20 and Your Criteria

I see no point in anything outside a top 10 so I'll do my top 10.

7. Vic Darchinyan
8. Juan Manuel Lopez
9. Nonito Donaire
0. Israel Vasquez

- I got rid of Calderon after his awful showing the other week.
- Cotto's stock rose when he beat a great fighter in Clottey with one eye.
- Lopez and Donaire are great fighters, constantly impressing.
- Vasquez got moved down due to inactivity.

 

My issue with having Donaire that high is that his biggest and only win is Darchinyan..however at the time of that victory Vic was just a mere titlist who was exciting some circles but thought to be overrated by others, it wasnt till after this loss he became an undisputed champ and challenged for p4p recognition.

Nonito is an excellent fighter...but really is yet to prove against anyone that good since he beat Vic.

I can dig the justification that you cant have Vic over Donaire because he was beaten by him...but often there are many examples of this happening, where a fighter is ranked above someone who has bettered them.

 

I dont have one because i dont give a rat's ass about this whole P4P ****.. It means nothing.

 

I have Darchinyan over Donaire because his victory over P4P rated Mijares was stunning. He also followed it up with a dominating victory over Arce.

However, in regards to Donaire, I can't leave him out of the top 10. He looks great every time out, his skills are on show for everybody to see. He did just dominate and knockout an overmatched opponent, but he was undefeated going in. And of course, Darchinyan is on the list, and Donaire brutally knocked him out not that long ago. He had to be there for me. Nobody has lasted the distance since 06.

Side note, his last four opponents who he has stopped have a combined record of 110-7.

JMM and Manny Paq? Their fights could have gone either way, to me, that disputes the position of Pac at #1

 

There can be no dispute as to who is number 1 after the destruction of Ricky Hatton at 140lb. No dispute at all.

I dont think they always do asero...and in the same breath I think it should be mostly about accomplishment.

I think having fighters like Vasquez and Caballero in it proof of this..the ring rankings I mean...because they are in there because of their accomplishments rather then their overall ability..which I dont put on the same level as most of the list.

So many great fighters over the years..H2H weapons..have been overlooked for these rankings because people dont feel their careers warranted it. Even though clearly they were as good if not better then a lot of the guys who made these lists.

 

For me, the only thing that matters in a P4P list is who the hell did you beat? In fact, that's the only thing that matters when ranking a fighter.

Donaire knocked out Darchinyan, who knocked out Mijares, who completely outclassed and shutout Arce.

Lopez just dominated Penalosa, who knocked out Johnny Gonzalez, who gave Vasquez one of the toughest fights of his career.

See where I'm going with this?

 

Well reviewing my list it is actually more about accomplishment mostly.
