He's fighting Cornelius White June 14th in a IBF eliminator so if he wins he'll be Hopkins mandatory. Hopkins is facing current mandatory Karo Murat after that im sure he'll want a big name money fight and i doubt he'll want to fight a dangerous unknown up and comer like Kovalev afterwards. If he sticks around id expect him to drop the belt and have another big name fight instead. Froch/Kessler winner, Bute/Pascal winner, Cleverly.

At 140 Khabib Allakhverdiev is a guy that doesn't get mentioned who is very exciting and looks quite skilled. Him against Lucas would be one of the most exciting fights possible, he isn't with Top Rank and he has a belt. He was supposed to fight Prescott but got injured and is now fighting M'baye on the Monaco Part 2 card which is underwhelming. Hope he gets a top guy to fight after that.

 

Yup, Khabib is good and he's underrated too.
Hits harder than his record would suggest.

It's a pity about the injury - a win over Prescott on HBO would have been good for his career.
