If there were no Boxed Ears contributions, it would be like dining out and eating a meal with absolutely no seasoning....an Italian restaurant with no garlic, or an Indian meal without any curries at all...

Fixed. [Obviously you couldn't do it for yourself, but I figured somebody ought to!]

I find that I learn the most from just reading arguments that are really clarification sessions.

I mostly look forward to reading post by these guys. I know I forgeting guys. Sorry gents.

He has been there and seen it. Also, highly skilled and laying out thoughts in a conversation personable way without getting personal. That is a true skill.

Fantastic all-around poster. Always in the middle of a good conversation. I always learn from his post.

This man gets waaaay to much flack. I am thankful that he is able to handle the unreasonable arguements he gets in such an intellectual way, a model in that way. Also, can talk from the beginings of boxing to the current time. Something I cannot do.

I swear every boxing site needs a guy like Surf-bat. Always with the newspaper articles and references to back up his point. just a wealth of boxing knowledge.

I read a post of his and was blown away by how clear his understanding was a particular fighter. I look forward to reading more.

The thing that I find in these posters and other like them is that they are respectful, articulate, humble, and perpared to give a man a good debate with plenty to back up each point they make. You cannot help but learn something from these men, even if you don't want to.

    Cheers fellas.

Jesus, can they put a limiter on certain posters. This board was in its death throes already and it now ruined by a couple very similar posters who are either complete trolls or have no knowledge of the game whatsoever.

“As stated in the War Powers Resolution of 1973, absent a Congressional declaration of war or authorization for the use of military force, the President as Commander-in-Chief has constitutional power to engage the US armed forces in hostilities only in the case of a national emergency created by an attack upon the United States, its territories or possessions, or its armed forces,” reads the letter. “As none of these criteria have been met, we believe it is Congress’s right and responsibility to be fully briefed on any potential plans to engage in military action in Syria, to assess whether such an intervention is in the national security interest of the United States and our allies, and to withhold or grant authorization for the use of military force based on this assessment.”

Another letter, authored by Congressman Scott Rigell, R-Virginia, and signed by 116 members (ninety-eight Republicans and eighteen Democrats) declares that “engaging our military in Syria when no direct threat to the United States exists and without prior congressional authorization would violate the separation of powers that is clearly delineated in the Constitution.”

I'm old and I would think very old

but Burt and Garfield seem to be much older.

Burt is so old, I understand, that his army discharge papers were signed by George Washington.

(My big boxing years were probably 1989 through 1993 -- then I had a hiatus for college...and a hiatus when I got into MMA...and then a hiatus when I got married and started having more kids and less money....come to think about it, I'm still there...but I'm getting back into it now. Thank goodness for YouTube, or I'm not sure when I'd watch any!)
