I could tell you, but I don’t want to disappoint people.

I know that you all like to imagine me as an old man with a long white beard!

Just turned 60 :patsch Tho I'm trying to buy into the mantra that "60 is the new 50" That's why I'm such a Patterson & Griffith fan, my dad got me into boxing in the late 50's. He saw Patterson-London at the Indy Coliseum in 59. I guess my biggest boxing thrills were the Gillette Friday Nite fights in the early sixties (dad let me stay up to watch) and all the Wide World of Sports Saturday afternoon bouts (many championship scraps) along with the golden 70's title fights on regular TV.

BU, I don't know what you mean by" first famous fight " I was at..? My FIRST pro main event my dad took me to, was in the early 1940s at St Nicholas Arena, NY, where a new exciting sensation from Georgia named Beau Jack fought Terry Young, who was the tough LW friend of Rocco Barbella, both of the mean streets of the lower Eastside of NY...Of course later on Rocco Barbella changed his name to Rocky Graziano, who became the greatest ring attraction of his times...About this time I saw the immortal Ray Robinson "play" with a fading but still good Henry Armstrong at MSG.. My FIRST TWO famous fighters pro card...

    39.

I miss the 1990s, when we had Holyfield, Bowe, Lewis, Ruddock, Tyson, etc., making waves in the heavyweight division, along with the supporting characters: Mercer, Morrison, Tua, Moorer, etc. It was a fun period. And honestly, I haven't been much of a boxing fan since the early 2000s. I first started following boxing hardcore around the time that Tyson lost to Douglas and when Foreman started making a lot of noise. The 90s were an awesome time to be a boxing fan. Post 1990s not so much. I don't much care for the current crop of fighters; I prefer watching and/or discussing the older fighters and fights.

Damn. Canelo had a son with 16 years old. And with 16 years old he was already a pro for 1 year. To me, this says something about his personality, that he is a very mature guy for his age, he has to be...

I´m impressed by Canelo´s calmness in the weight in and all the rest. The dude might not be the guy to beat Mayweather, but I certainly see him as a tough minded guy, a lot of mental strenght.
