you should watch BJ get crusifixed by Hughes and have his head pummeled to the mat. GSP is ahead of BJ and after he beats him again that will proove it further. And i'm sick of BJ's excuses he doesn't get a free pass because he comes in out of shape or fights at a higher weight class. A fight's a fight that's how things work.
Big big difference between what happened to BJ vs Hughes and GSP vs Serra 1. BJ had suffered a broken rib in that fight and I know how it feels as I also broke a rib this year sure its not the type of injury that will require awhole lot of medical care if any and will likely not linger for the rest of your life but until you give it about 2 months to rest and fully recover your pretty much ****ed when your trying to fight or roll I found that out the hard way. Its almost impossible to even move getting out of bed imagine trying to move on the ground with an aminal like Matt Hughes with a rib injury I cant imagine its easy. Breathing is extremly difficult as well its just pure hell for atleast the first month even if you do rest it. GSP got KTFO out by strikes not injury lead to this he got caught and hurt and eventually finished no doubt about it.
Fedor Anderson Silva BJ Penn Georges St.Pierre Rich Franklin Lyoto Machida Minotauro Noguera Josh Barnett Urijah Faber Miguel Torres I understand Lyoto's ranking is over-rated, but I think his style is seriously difficult to actually defeat. He could fight anyone at light heavy and drag out a boring victory if he needs to imo.
I suppose its the whole unbeaten thing. Hes record is able to be picked apart but I suppose when you look at it and it says BJ Penn,Rich Franklin,Stephan Bonnar,Nakumura,Sokodjue,Tito Ortiz ETC it looks good.
He has victories over big names at lesser weights. The way he schooled Sokoudjou impressed the hell out of me. It wasn't a one dimensional walk down. He let Sokoudjou reveal openings and he executed both at standup and he finished on the ground. Soko looks horrible on his back, and his striking is very one dimensional. But, who do you see beating Lyoto? I can't name one person.
I dunno if its Dana white or him but he should've faced someone solid long time ago. Once he does that than I can start considering him in some rankings.
Looking at the majority of the big names at 205 I cant pick anyone over him when I actually use my head he would be style nightmares for pretty much everyone one guy I could see having success vs him would be Rampage I just think he matches up with Lyoto better then anyone else although thats not saying awhole lot.
First time he fights a counter pucher he will lose. With Liddell on the down slide i dunno how he would fare but a year and a half ago Liddell would rip him a new one.
