Bivol won all 12 rounds if you score the fight unbias using the scoring criterias -clean punches landed -ring generalship -defense -effective aggression
It's "Clean effective punching" not "clean punches landed". You forgot the effective part. And using the word landed makes it sound like you're counting punches rather than judging the effectiveness of the punching throughout a round. A punch doesn't have to be clean to be more effective. An ineffective clean punch may not be as good as a more effective heavier semi-clean punch. So remember, it's clean effective punching, not who landed more of the punches that you've deemed to be clean.
@IsaL I think we identified the problem here. Apparently people think the scoring criteria is "clean punches landed". Looks like they forgot about the effective part when scoring a round.
Those who follow amateur boxing always have issues scoring fights in the pros. It's a different scoring system. In amateur the effectiveness of the punch is not a big scoring factor in many if not most cases. Where in the pros it's one of the four main factors.
The thread is near unanimous that Canelol's best rounds were 4 and 9. Who cares if a couple of guys have round 3 or 2 down as well? "Boxing fans not in agreement" This is near enough the highest rate of consensus you'll ever see for a fight, absolutely braindead comment. If you're going down the route of "if there isn't perfect alignment, then I guess the fight could be called either way" then youre putting yourself in a position where you can never judge a fight. Every fight that's ever happened that was closer than this one (95% of them) are you going to shrug your shoulders and say you don't know who won? Mindless.
It's abundantly clear by now that no one agrees on who won the first 4 rounds. Here's more evidence for you : This content is protected See how even the split is over how fans voted in rounds 1-4?
With 1-3 going to Bivol each by a very narrow margin. The fan voting shows how split the fans were over who won Rounds 1-4.
Canelo Alvarez vs Dmitry Bivol Rounds Won Alvarez - 2,3 Bivol - 1,4,5,6,7,8,10,11,12 Even - 9 My Scorecard (A)111 - 118(B) Winner: Bivol (118-111)
We both changed our view. I'm hoping you can do a deep enough dive now so you won't need 5 years. You don't agree with the judge, they have 4 consecutive close rounds to Canelo. You wouldn't do that, you'd split them. So you score it 9-3 Bivol.
