115 - 112 Dirrell. I think a couple of the rounds could have gone either way. I don't usually complain about decisions in close fights but the rounds I gave to Froch were really almost toss ups as Froch landed nothing.

 

if you have the 10th round even, then with the point deduction it should be a 10-9 round for froch. so your card should read dirrell by a point 115-114

My report:

1 - AD in righty stance, fires quick jabs, mostly landing to body. Doesn't commit very much though and lands in the air a lot. CF doesn't throw hardly at all until the end when AD had turned southpaw and CF landed some rights to the body. Not much done by either. Cautious even round, or ever so slight in AD favor.
2 - More cautious sparring. Each throwing one punch at a time. AD lands a tad more with his quick lead shots and one or two counters. Neither risk much. AD round.
3 - Not much happening. AD with his straight left to body. CF with some to body as well. Each land a solid shot to the head - AD with his straight left and CF with a straight right. AD a bit busier and edges the round, but not much action.
4 - AD very speedy. Lands more, but there are almost no lands or effective offense by either. AD's nose or mouth is bleeding, however. Not sure what did it. AD lightning fast, but CF is the heavy handed fighter. Neither appears too comfortable. Even or AD.
5 - AD busier and lands more early on. CF not liking AD grabbing and throws him down. CF can't barely land even though AD not landing much either. Single shots prevail. Outside fight so far. AD grabs whenever they get close. AD wants to maintain range, but CF doesn't exactly press a whole lot. AD round.
6 - AD landing, ducking, grabbing. CF missing. AD falls down a lot a la Zahir Raheem. CF finally lands one and AD grabs. AD grabs a lot. AD seems to land more, but impressionistically, he is looking bad. He seems more tired and more affected when hit. CF is stronger and looks calm. AD cannot fight on the inside at all, and just falls in, grabs, and falls down. Even or take what you like.
7 - CF changes tide of fight big time as AD seems to be tiring or falling apart. He cannot fight a lick on the inside and is grabbing incessantly. CF fights his way out of the clinches and nails AD well. AD complains about getting roughed, but the referee instead properly warned AD for constant holding. CF round.
8 - Cautious again. CF not press much. Not sure why. He allows AD to box on the outside again. However, AD gets rocked by a hook. He seems to act badly or react badly when hit. I don't think these shots are really that great, but AD makes them seem even better by acting so badly when hit. He grabs for dear life and looks like a cheap Olympic amateur, but this is the pros. AD is trying desperately not to get hit. CF round.
9 - AD boxing but not landing very often. CF doesn't do much either. CF can't land. AD puts his head straight down and gets hit on the back of the head, but it is his own fault. AD falls in and holds again. AD lands more but leaves such a horrid impression with his holding and desperate low ducking that I could see how a judge might be prejudiced against him. Even round.
10 - AD grabs too much, which finally leads to a point being taken off, properly so. CF outworks him in close, but not much significant is landing. At the end of the round AD really nailed CF with two lefts that seemed to hurt, but probably not enough to overcome CF's better round. CF round 10-8.
11 - CF flurries as AD ducks. AD comes back with hard fast lefts. AD nailed him with some hooks. AD ducks a lot again. He grabs on the inside. AD's speed is helping him here, and he landed more this round. AD round.
12 - Very close back and forth round. Neither really had the edge. Each had a few good and bad moments. Even.

Split decision by the judges. 114-113 AD overruled by 115-112 CF (twice).

Tough fight to score. I had it 5 rounds even, 4 rounds AD, 3 rounds CF, but with the point off AD, that pretty much evens it up. Draw for me with champ retaining title. I don't mind that CF won because he has the more entertaining style, and in a 15 round fight or in the proper old-time fight to the finish, Froch would eventually stop AD. But not an impressive performance other than he dealt fairly well with a really fast survival minded slick guy with that amateur style that is tough to look good against. But arguments could be made either way for this one.

I just watched this fight again and there is no fu*ken way Froch won this fight. Froch got the extra point so all he needed to do was win 6 rounds. No way he won 6 rounds. Dirrell, although he had some rounds where he held like a girl, won the fight.

I wouldn't call it a robbery but it was close.

 

I had Dirrell up by 3 points Froch was always 2 steps behind Andre and got a bad homecooking win. Frochs stock dropped in this fight big time

115-113 Froch

Dirrell could’ve fought the entire fight like he did in rounds 10 through 12 and won 119-108; but he didn’t and that’s why, for me, Froch’s aggression and greater ring generalship edged him the middle rounds in which, for me, a few more successful offensive flurries by Dirrell would’ve clinched them for him.

The post-fight debates have been far more exciting than the fight itself!

Froch 114-113 (felt the Dirrell point deduction was harsh)

I thought rounds 7 & 11 were clear rounds.

Crap fight, neither Froch or Dirrell fought their fight properly.

 

I've heard people saying Dirrell won easily and I can't see it at all. I keep getting 115-112 for Froch - maybe we all have different preferences. I personally hated the way Dirrell fell to the floor to avoid punches and complained about being punched at the back of the head, even though he instigated the clinches. After all the clinching and falling to the floor, I agree that a point should have been deducted. You're not even allowed to go as low as Dirrell did to dodge punches - all that's left to hit is the back of the head and I don't think Froch is going to stand and wait for someone to come up with a potential uppercut. I do agree that Froch throwing Dirrell to the canvas wasn't very fair and should have had a heavy warning from the ref. I also don't mind fighters being on the back foot like Dirrell, he was trying not to get caught - you can't blame him for that.
