I didn't really score it round by round but I felt Tszyu gave away a lot of rounds in the first half of the fight by not being active enough. Most of the rounds he won he won big and in terms of overall damage done he battered Mendoza. But in terms of actual rounds won it felt close to me.

I can't remember the exact round now, maybe it was round 7, but Tszyu went uppercut crazy in one round and it completely changed the complexion of the fight. He should've incorporated that into his attacks earlier and more often after that round too and he might have been able to get Mendoza out of there. Granted, Mendoza was super tough, though.

But at the end of the day, another Eurasian King defended his realm and another Eurasian eagle soars. Two Eurasian Kings in one night including King Janibek.

I scored it 116-112 for Tszyu.

I had it 3-3 after 6, then Tszyu dominated the next 5. Mendoza won the 12th because Tszyu seemed to take the round off.

Serge i believe Tim just didn't care to completely win those rounds as he knew when to turn it up & when to calm it down which probably gave some the notion that he was giving the fight away but in reality he just didn't care much for Mendozas power & knew he lacked the will to actually come in to win so Tim focused on just walking through all of his twitches trying to land the power shots by trapping him instead.

I do believe if he were to finally fight Charlo or another higher level fighter he would fight completely different & be more defensively aware at what would be coming back to him, just my opinion.

Yes, Tszyu gave the rounds away and he didn't seem at all concerned or bothered he was doing so. But he was being outworked by Mendoza in a bunch of rounds in the first half of the fight which made it closer than it needed to be IMO

I thought he was being pretty defensively aware last night to be fair whilst simultaneously applying constant pressure

True i've seen Tim be more responsible with his defense although even then his face was pretty clean in comparison to Mendozas most likely due to the added bonus of having strong skin genetics as well,

The biggest thing was Tims feet being heavy & slower than usual looked almost like he had been out of the ring for a while, They had the same Referee who worked the Pacquiao/Horn fight who is so incompetent even tonight with him not noticing anything in real time including the few back of the head punches that were landed by Tszyu i'm assuming unintentionally ( Same happened with Fury vs KSI which was a lot more frequent) & he did not issue any warning while being asleep at his job, there was a time where i thought another Ref would have stopped the action when Tszyu was landing those hard combinations but i knew he wouldn't haha.

I noticed Tim fought with much more intensity & awareness in the Harrison fight then he did last night looks to me like he didn't really respect Mendoza power or skills as would expected & this would explain his expressions at the weigh in.

I had it 10- 2 Tszyu. He landed the harder shots consistently throught the entire round. Even in the 12th. Like I said last night. I need to rewatch. People saying a draw? I didn't see anythiclose to a draw.

    115-113 Tszyu

Tim giving away the 12th was just stupid considering the fact that boxing is littered with fighters who gave the last round away and lost as a result.

When the scores were read out and Tsyu's hand raised there was zero surprise or disappointment on Mendoza's face. He was just glad to be still standing.

You could make a lengthy argument for how Mendoza could have achieved a draw. You could. Ultimately he fought the wrong fight for the situation he was in. If you're an away fighter facing a star in Australia, home of JEFF HORN, you need to bring the heat and not try to leave a trail of murky rounds to prop you up. It's disappointing because while he took a helluva beating, Mendoza has to know he has a great chin. He should've relied on his chin early to push a slow starting Timmy into an uncomfortable fight.

Even if he got the draw, who really cares? At the end of the day Tim beat the **** out of him and Mendoza could have done better given his own power and chin. A draw doesn't win him the belt, derail the Tim hype train, or put him in a significantly different position.

    I had it 7-5 Tsyzu

115-113 Tim Tyszu. Timmy ain't no p4p fighter and he never will be, I'm very confident saying that. Charlo needs to fight him though.

This was my scorecard as well for all 12 rounds. I thought the last eight rounds were relatively easy to score and debates can only be made about the first four.

I had it 114-114, I did think that there were two rounds that could easily have gone the other way, although I was surprised that TV gave the first to Tim. To me, Tim looked like he was struggling with what was admirable about Mendoza's style, but it seems he was just learning and forcing himself upon the mover, which is very cool to see, that's pretty great. Two absurdly tough men. I'm not unhappy about the official cards, especially not the ones that scored 8 rounds for Tim, that is natural.

    Tim Tszyu:5,7,8,9,10,11.
    Brian Mendoza:1,2,3,4,6,12.
