Posters who Predicted Hopkins to Beat Pavlik

It's going to be a great fight.

I want Roy to win.

I think Joe will win a UD.

 

Joe is a brilliant boxer, no doubt about that, but he showed being vulnerable to counters, besides he has never faced someone who could do it along with lateral movement, roy jones will surprise many people

 

Can't really be bothered to give an indepth analysis. I wouldn't compare this to Pavlik-Hopkins at all though.

Jones has the speed and power to worry Calzaghe, his reflexes are still there if significantly deteriorated. I don't think his chin is a worry, Calzaghe won't knock him out. But I believe Calzaghe will come out on top. He's one of the most adaptable fighters in the sport today, I think he can cope with Jones style, back him up and outwork him. His chin is also good enough to withstand Jones' power in my opinion.

 

Calzaghe should win pretty easy,Just throw punches cuz the guy in fron of you can't move and can't take'em.24/7 will make it look equal or even Roy being the favorite,the reality in the ring will be painfull for Roy tough but on the other hand Joe ain't serious with training anymore so.....it will be fairly competitive.Roy will land his share of right hands but Joe has a chin.Je UD

 

if hopkins can put joe on the floor, then so can jones

 

Calzaghe will begin to pull away, if not KO Jones, middway through the fight as his pace will be too much for Jones to keep up with.

 

I think calzaghe will have some problem w/ jones elusiveness now that he's regained comfort at lightheavy, i think the angles and akward punching getting hit from every which way will frustrate calzaghe i pick jones to win late stoppage or decision.

 

I said Pavlik is gonna beat Hopkins. I predict now that Joe will win. I hope I am wrong again.

 

A sad and dominant fight by Joe Calzaghe. If Roy isn't knocked out he will have some good counter punching moments but his activity level will be too low and the common thing you will hear is - why isn't Jones punching?

I don't call many fights correctly, but I called Hopkins to beat Pavlik in a lopsided fight (this despite being from Ohio!) and I called Klitschko to easily beat Peter.

Jones will be dangerous in flashes so you may see him getting a sudden kd/ko. Maybe a left hook around Joe's right glove?
However I don't think he's got the legs anymore, Joe's right lead will pin him inplace and keep him occupied whilst flurrying to build up a lead.
Calzaghe UD 8-4 with some rocky moments on the way.

 

Apparently, anyone that Calzaghe beats is either shot, or was never that good in the first place.
