The Ring's Michael Rosenthal and Doug Fischer have reported that not only is James Kirkland going to appear on the Hatton/Pacquiao undercard, but that should he emerged unscathed he could go on to be featured on GBP's 6/27 HBO date in the most significant matchup of his career thus far. Victor Ortiz, who is almost certain to be on the card, might also step up against a rugged title holder in Kotelnik.

Oh God that would be awesome.
Dzinziruk and Kotelnik are some of the most underrated fighters around,a HBO slot against these would be great.

Great card, great fights. I think Dzinziruk would dissect Kirkland and beat him close though. Kotelnik is a great boxer, but doesn't have the power to make Ortiz respect him. If they can actually get these types of title fights lined up, then why risk putting them on the Hatton-Pac card at all?

    Loooool. What?

This would be the single most quality BAD in years... Amazing. Bring it on, most definitely something I'd pay for.

    Dzinziruk by UD
The other is a close call Ortiz has skilll but kotelnik hast talet and experience I don't know if he can ko Kotelnik, the last guy he fought the Argentinian hit hard as hell and could not ko Kotelnik, but yes He manage to hurt him, so he can do it.

Unfortunately, Brickhaus, I took the article to be insinuating that Kirkland will be in there with a total can. I'm okay with that as long as he steps up to someone on Dzindziruk's level in his next bout. The 5/2 slot is more for exposure.

All I can say is: WOW!

My picks are: Ortiz by SD and Dzinziruk by wide UD...

Amazing card if it's made!!! Dzindziruk would be a very difficult fight for Kirkland who'd be the underdog in that fight.

Dzindziruk by wide decision. Ortiz by SD over a very game Kotelnik.

If Kirkland beats Dzindziruk then he'll be as legit as any prospect in boxing right now.

It says that Kirkland would fight on the May 2 Pac-Hatton card so I assume Ortiz would as well.

    Looking at it:

    Hatton-Pac
    Luevano-Concepcion
    Forbes-Ortiz
    Kirkland-Can

    is a VERY entertaining card.

Is it just me or is Dzinziruk the clear no.1 at 154 after he would have beaten Kirkland as he has beaten the most quality opponents at 154 over the last 3 1/2 years?

Kirkland is already legit. He'd be top 5 JMW if he beats Dzinziruk.

    Ortiz TKO late
    Dzinziruk SD

This would be nice. I think Dzinziruk and Kotelnik have paid their dues and deserve some hype and attention. They are pretty much clones of each other in left and right hand, only Dzinziruk is a better inside fighter!

I already consider Kirkland a lower top-ten 154 pound contender. Should he beat Dzindziruk, he then becomes a title holder and a top three fighter in the division with Forrest and Williams.
