We won't see that Mayweather again. From now on, he's only going to fight one way, and that's coming forward. He'll won't use his legs again to fight backing up.

Punches to watch out for this in fight:

    *Jab to the body

    *Right uppercut

Cotto(e)'s stance leaves him open for that stab down under, and he's always been one to eat uppercut sandwiches. Be on the lookout for a 1 down and ripping 2 up top.

Floyd comes forward and stops Cotto(e)

I think we'll see very few uppercuts. replace that with a right hand lead :good

I expect a high guard, leading with the jab to the body and a straight right, and very little else :yep

He caught Ortiz 2-3 times with the upper.:yep

Right hand is a given. I don't mention it because Floyd always makes it connect whether they're particularly open for it or not.

Do you think Cotto(e) will attempt his once famous left hook to the body? Floyd uses his right elbow as a shield and timing mechanism for setting off counter right uppers if they try to hook downstairs. We constantly see him drilling this maneuver with Unca Roger on the mitts.

Cotto is more mobile then Mosley. Floyd will fight him in his cross guard, with heavy emphasis on the jab to upset Cotto's rhythm like he did Marquez. He wont use the high guard until he goes for the KO in the late rounds. Pure boxer puncher in this fight. Suddenly Mayweather's legs will "Magically" return.

This new Cotto has a jab... the old Cotto had a jab.... Unless cotto shows his olskool relentless pressure, then that is what May needs to look for... The man has lost his ferocity which is the only reason I gave him a shot 5 years ago...

Cotto will try and establish his jab...but Floyd with his incredible reach, speed, and timing is going to eat Cotto alive with pull counters.

When that jab doesn't work to allow him to work his way into range...he will be confused and hesitant...checkmate Floyd...a beatdown is comming.

Mayweather will start off cautious and measured. Cotto will also be reluctant to engage, but at some point early on will allow the crowd to gas him up, and will elicit some oohs and ahhs not only from the crowd, but from the HBO crew via some eye catching, but ineffective flurries. Then Mayweather will realize how easy Cotto is to hit, and he will begin hitting him. Over and over and over, and Cotto will be in full retreat mode by round 5. The aggressive side of Mayweather will emerge, and he will batter Cotto around the ring until the fight is stopped in the 10th.

Maybe once or twice, but all Floyd needs to do is transition into his sholder roll guard and crack Cotto with a counter right

This..........How many 147-154 pounders you see bouncing on their feet dancing for a full 12 rounds, that strategy is only conducive to fighting at the lower weights, at the bigger weights of 147 and 154 it's a waste of energy, and could potentially get yourself in trouble implementing that style, ala Cotto fading in the later rounds, and Pacquiao with leg cramps, Floyd is a tactician to the fullest degree, please believe he knew he had to change, and with him growing into a solid ww has full confidence doing so, expect him to come forward, and send Cotto retreating early to send a message, and break his confidence early

It did fit perfectly for someone like Baldomir, who looked like he was fighting under water, but I agree; Mayweather should be in the pocket, or walking forward :good
