I put up a post earlier tonight and I still feel that MMA is just plain streetfighting. Boxers are limited, but so are the MMA fighters. I have yet to see a gifted boxer in the ring with a MMA fighter. Again, the Iceman was a terror for a long time, but most of his wins were standing up. I have fought and as many of you have fought in streetfights. Most of my streetfights ended standing up. Again, a talented boxer would go through alot of these MMA fighters. I was almost sold on the shark who lost to Penn on how he trains like an animal and look what happened to him. Penn is extraordinary though. Even past boxing champs stories on how they train with bears and so on and so on. HBO would talk about how boxers train like that CW Toney crushed. If your gifted and train normally like a boxer, I believe you can out box and out hustle a MMA. No real talented boxer would take a chance though. Talks about PBF???

Pimp, i dont think you're taking into consideration that a with a "traditional" boxing stance its near impossible to avoid a takedown.

Also, what happens to your knee when all your weight is on your front foot throwing a heavy jab and your opponent kicks your leg?

Both boxing and MMA have evolved to best take advantage of given rules. If a world class boxer thinks he's going to fight MMA like he's under marquis of queensbury he's in a hell of a lot of trouble.

They're in UFC for a reason...its easy to find someone with heart! but the skills has to be there too...

boxing and UFC are very different from each other.

Its fair to say that there maybe some in UFC that are suited for boxing, like some boxers are better off in UFC.

Even at mma i do not see his striking as something opponents would fear.

Although he has wanted to be come a good striker and use his wrestling as a defense ala Chick Liddell.

    In an MMA match?:rofl

    Damn....

You're talking about one of the greatest fighters of all time here vs. a great boxer, Fedor has a lot more to work with than Tyson.

If one of them was really all that? Then switch and get $$$$$$$:yep

Honestly? The comparisons and what if's are a waste of time. How many guys who went to the NFL or NBA coulda would've if they had trained Boxing entirely. Ultimately? The ones who are in boxing are BOXING and I could care less about what others in other sports "might" do. I'll bet any of those mentioned get whipped at some point if they try their hand in a BOXING Ring.

Boxing will always be the ULTIMATE fighting sport because of the endurance and discipline required due to the RULES.:good

    Who's the moron?????...more than likely you're the moron.... if you're confused....consult a grammarian......

You're confusing apples and oranges (by comparing MMA and boxing) which are totally different skill sets.....if I have to explain it....then refer to my first rhetorical question.........:good

Couldn't have said it better. People lets not forget these rules that "limit" what you can do also allow you to get hit over 400 time in the course of 47 minutes.

Its ridiculous to compare sports with different rules:yep Yet, its not the MMA Athletes behind it:nono Its the scumbag, piece of shits, in serious need of getting beat the **** down, that continually try to confuse the two. Which then spawns the casual conversation and ultimate confusion.

I mean think about it, wrestling, karate, boxing etc have been around 100's of years. Yet Boxing was at the forefront because of THE RULES. It takes more skill, heart, and will, to survive 12, 15, 20, 30, 40, 50+(oldschool days) rounds on your your own 2 feet, using your own 2 fists.

I dont knock other sports at all. I can also appreciate them. Yet Boxings rules have resulted in some of humanities most legendary tests of strength, skill, will, and spirit. Which is the ULTIMATE point.

Dana White and the ****ing scumbags? Can keep sucking dicks. They only hurt their sport in the long run by promoting antagonism between the 2. If they really wanted to shine? They'd just embrace both sports and let it be. But? You just cant change some. Which saddens me for MMA athletes. I respect them but not the direction the "business" is going:good
