A lot of these guys would be BURIED by pro boxers. You know how much better shape a pro boxer is in (at least actual superstars)??? A true pro boxer doesn't hold on to the other guy, while they catch there breath...They throw punches round after round. Have you seen many UFC guys fight for 20 minutes, and not take breathers about 50% of the time??? Of course fights don't usually go that long, but just saying.
I'll even spot you MMA fans, and let someone MMA fight a B ranked brawler fighter...Like Gatti or Ward (in there better years), and I still BET they would eat 95% of MMA fighters there size!!! There workrate would be way to much...
Those of you who bring up kicks, and takedowns:
Kicks: you can only throw roundhouses and ****. They'd never have enough room, or enough time to throw a roundhouse because a skilled boxer would be ON TOP OF THEM! Even if they did it while he's attacking...if it's to the face a skilled boxer keeps his hand up, and it'd hit his arm.
Takedowns: A skilled boxer is gonna pick your ass apart while your coming in, have good movement, and even if you do grab him...He's going to be slamming you with punches. The only way this would work is if a much BIGGER MMA guy fights a much smaller boxer. Boxers aren't weak, and I don't a guy there size is going to take them down easily.......

what if i brought up a flying knee? where a boxer is not use to moving out of the way of that? and what if they where on top of them wouldnt the mma fighter just have to go low and take them down? what if the mma fighter grabbed the other guys arm taking him down and putting him into a kemora arm bar?

its easy to load up possible fights for both fighters.

this whole thread is pointless. all that can be said is that they are two different sports end of story. and of course an mma guy would lose to a boxer in a boxing match and a boxer would lose to a mma guy in an mma fight. because they are both out of their elements...
and anybody who thinks differently obviously doesnt know one sport or the other. or is just nut hugging their sport.

when do we have the basketball players would whoop soccer player threads?
because this thread is boring and pointless.

If they wanted "to be the best" their skills wouldn't be so crude and sloppy. UFC exits for guys who like to fight but don't like serious training.

and the ignorant statement of the year award goes to.........

no but seriously to say guys in the UFC dont like serious training only shows that you dont watch UFC at all. If you have ever seen anybody from the UFC train you would not be making such ignorant statements.

I don't need training to ballet to see if somebody can danse. It should be obvious to anybody who has good eyesight that ufc is nothing more than street fighting in a cage.

I remember hearing a long time ago that GSP has a 10-0 amateur boxing record, so maybe he had the potential of being a good boxer if he didn't like to kick so much

    Exactly. :good

Keep MMA in the MMA forum ... talking about boxing vs. mma is like talking about, I don't know, Michael Jordon vs. Tiger Woods! (or more like Rocco Mediate vs. Kobe Bryant, if you catch my drift). Obviously, Jordon is the better basketball player, and Tiger is the better golfer.
