Using some historical data and examples I want to look a potential money in the UK vs money in the US for this fight.

Using Joshua vs Klitsko @ wembley

    - Joshua vs Wlad gate - 90k sold out wembley
    - Joshua vs Wlad gate revenue - £8m or 10M USD
    - Joshua vs Wlad ppv sales -1.5 million pay-per-views at £16.95, generating £25.4m that roughly converts to 22 usd per ppv totalling 32 million usd.
    - an additional 11M roughly in merchandising, sponsorship and tv rights.

    https://www.bloodyelbow.com/2016/12...gross-53-million-smash-british-boxing-records

I think a recent example to discuss POTENTIAL money in Vegas for a Joshua-wilder fight is Canelo vs GGG if that’s a reach please let me know but I believe Joshua vs Wilder has potential to be bigger then canelo vs ggg.

    - Canelo vs GGG gate - 16200 per nsac and 17300 per gbp
    - Canelo vs GGG gate revenue - 27M usd per gbp and 20m per nsac
    - Canelo vs GGG ppv sales - 1.3m as reported by LA times @ 70usd standard definition and 80usd for high definition totaling for anywhere between 91-104 million USD.

Maybe comparing canelo vs ggg to Joshua vs Wilder is unfair but imo Joshua vs Wilder has the potential to be bigger.

I think Vegas has a fair shot at landing this fight and the fight has he potential to be the biggest fight since mayweather vs pacquaio/Mcgregor.

it will make more dollars in London Wembley as of now since unfortunately wilder is not even a draw in his home country

it would be a stupid choice to land it in vegas right now,

I dont think Hearn would risk it. Canelo vs GGG in Vegas was nailed on that it was going to be huge, Canelo already filled that venue as standard practice. Golovkin did really good numbers himself. Joshua does amazingly well in the UK as standard practice, how well he does in America is unknown. Wilder the American does not do well in America.

I can see how all the noise Wilder is making and the big UK vs USA battle for unified champion could get America into a bit of a frenzy, it is heavyweight after all which is all armchair fans favourite weight but because its ifs and probablys and not nailed on fact i dont think they will risk it being a bit of a flop. If Wilder was a big deal already in America like some of the other established big names then i bet Hearn would be tempted.

I know i keep referring to Hean but i think at the end of the day its down to him, he holds all the aces here.

My Heart says Wembley just for the Atmosphere,Crazy night it's going to be,Buzz all around London. Then My Head says Vegas,i dont think many Brits would be mad at it,you will certainly see a Hatton like Takeover in Vegas, but the problem is the PPV will be at 4am in the Morning. If they can do it on a Bank Holiday Weekend in August 2018 could be more ideal.Whatever happens it is a real Super Fight, and will be a epic UK/Nigeria v US battle. Both gurantee Fireworks, both of them aren't like Fury or Klitschko where they have the ability to stink the place out, both are poor at defending and it wont be good for their respective Brands if they fight like that,so i see Offence and Attack as the only way these two Box.

How much **** would Hearn get if he went to Wembley and upped the ticket prices for a monster gate?

I personally believe wembley is too large a venue to really over charge for tickets.... there’s too many seats.

Vegas you can really hit people in the head for tickets because of how limited space is.

It ultimately comes down to belief....

I was at deontay-stiverne 2 and I think they announced that the fight sold 10k tickets if I’m not mistaken. Not too shabby.

I think at this point the United States are fully aware of the fight and it would sell out simply off hype. Plus as someone else mentioned I could see the fight having a very Hatton vs Mayweather’esque atmosphere if it were in the us.

If it was in uk obviously it would sell out but Hearn and Joshua would be leaving money on the table.

If Hearn and AJ really care more about the money they will pick Las Vegas which i will understand. If they actually care about what they have been building in the UK,this is what it will lead to The Biggest Heavyweight Fight in decades held in London.Again Wilder thinks he might have home advantage, but i can 100% imagine it will be invaded by Brits and will be if not better than the Hatton Following who mostly had Manchester behind him,AJ got the whole of England.I Really dont want to watch this at 4am in the Morning, but i think they will do it,if Mayweather-Pacquiao and Mcgregor broke Sky Records in the Morning i think they wont be against it.I still cant see it doing good numbers on PPV in the US

It should be a 60/40 split, in the UK, AJ is the A side and deserves top billing.

It would be kind of a long shot for this fight to be held in Vegas. Neither DiBella nor Hearn has ever promoted there, and both fighters are pretty much unknown in the US. Wilder-Stiverne did not even come close to selling out the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, which seats around 16,000. I believe between AJ and Wilder they have a total of 1 US PPV, and that was due to Wlad more than anything.

If they make the fight in the USA, Hearn is gonna lose money, that's for sure.

Aside from the reduced ticket revenue, UK ppv would be badly hit by a 3am start.
