Diego Sanchez somehow was medically cleared to box Austin Trout. Trout is active and not too far removed from being a good pro. Sanchez has been completely shot for a decade plus in MMA and has exhibited bizarre behaviour over the years consistent with chronic brain injury. This fight really shouldn't be happening.
Fatalities happen in every sport. There're doctors who are responsible for allowing a fighter to fight. BKFC is usually uglier than boxing because of the cuts and the blood, but since being more realistic when it comes to landing a punch, be sure many of the bare hand punches are not as strong as those you'd land with a glove. This seemingly minor difference is actually a huge one, I doubt we'll see a jabber in BKFC landing on the opponent's forehead or someone landing power hooks ones temple. So all of that is potentially lowering the risk of heavy damage to the head.
Anyone has any idea when is this fight happening? Rather, I am not a huge fan of BKFC. Hence they pass the other rule which is beneficial and it becomes the lower risk of head injury.
He wasn't "somehow" cleared. He was cleared and it was vetoed by one of the commissions members out of concern for Sanchez and his wellbeing Sanches then had an MRI and a neurologist examination and no issues were found. So he was once again cleared Looks like a commission doing due diligence rather than the opposite
Yeah, Sanchez should not be fighting anymore. But Trout has seen better days himself, and his style doesn't exactly translate well to BKB. Just an embarrassing freakshow all around.
Sanchez is gown in the 4th.. Sanchez is bleeding profusely and the Dr stops the fight. Main Event next.
Wowww.. Rich man hurts Hunt then drops him, then seconds later richman gets caught and knocked out cold! That's some crazy ****! I thought Hunt was done...
Sad turn of events for a shot to bits Diego. I watched the original TUF as a youth and he was always my favourite fighter in the UFC. He was the reason I used to watch the UFC in the early years before it got big, i don't follow it much now but when I see Diego's name i'm still intrigued even though he has been shot to bits for 10+ years.
Yea I did notice that Trouts corner man was rubbing his neck and shoulders after applying the Vaseline to his face area.. That's foul it didn't allow Sanchez to utilize his dirty boxing.. What a shame. “First of all I didn’t get any Vaseline put on me!” Sanchez posted in an Instagram reel. “Secondly, I did feel that Vaseline all on his shoulder and his neck during the fight it was put on so heavy I could not utilize the clinch this is cheating everybody so with that being said, I am the victorious champion and I count this as a win. Hopefully we can get the decision overturned. I will be talking with my lawyer soon. @davidfeldmanbkfc @swfightnews @bareknuckle @mmajunkie god always has my back what a relief walking down the mountain to this news.”
