To be fair I'd stopped watching him by the time he fought Will McIntyre, people look back at his career with rose tinted glasses and let the alright little run he had with Lacy, Kessler and Hopkins paint over the cracks, because what a waste of time the vast majority of that guys career was.

Ironic then that Froch, who has consistently done what Calzaghe was reluctant to do, will probably tarnish what was a very good reputation by the way he will finish his career in not rematching Groves.

As for Froch vs Chavez, could make for an exciting fight but no way would I watch it on PPV, if it is then the fight will be a total flop.

Awful matchmaking. I'd watch because I love boxing but it's honestly not an exciting fight.

Why would you have stopped watching at McIntyre when McIntyre wasnt the planned opponent and just a late sub? His fight before that was against an undefeated fighter who went on to win a SMW title, his fight before that was against a top 5 SMW who was a former SMW champ, his fight before that was against a top 10 SMW who beat prime G Johnson and his fight after was against a top 10 SMW who was a former SMW champ. Thats not rose tinted but a fact.

As for Froch of course people will watch it. The hype and build up creates alot of interest and gets people believing that non special fights are massive even match ups with people believing they are top fighters (sometimes they are, sometimes the are not). Hype sells and has people believing

It could be a good match-up but its not one that interests me. I would not watch it.

The more I think about it I don't think this fight will ever happen, chavez fights in march and there is a very good chance he could lose which would definitely end the possibility of the froch fight, even if he wins he only then has two months to get ready to fight froch before june because as we know there is a little event taking place in brazil , so the fight would need to be in may which is never enough time to prepare. Froch is going to retire!!!

At 5am in the morning I can't see many takers for this on PPV outside of Nottingham. I think that consideration puts to bed this and the Ward fight. I have a suspicion that the Groves fight will happen in London (O2 in all probability despite all the stadium talk) in May. Froch's options if he wants to fight on PPV are limited to Groves.

I would watch the fight if it's not on PPV. Not worth PPV. Froch should get up the nerve to fight Groves..........

During the iFL TV interview with Michelle Joy Phelps Joe Gallagher says this fight is basically done for Vegas in the summer, I find it very hard to see how Froch can dodge the Groves rematch but then again Froch has always been a **** he just had a good PR campaign to try convince us different.
