If Canelo and Mayweather both win their upcoming bouts are we to expect a clash between them for the middle weight title early 2018? Plenty of incentive for both of them canelo can avenge his only loss and Floyd will have the opportunity to silence everyone that says he refuses to take on a true threat

I doubt it. Canelo would probably beat the aged Floyd and tarnish his legacy.

Well that's not gonna happen is it? Canelo isn't getting past GGG, that's just a reality, it doesn't matter how many shenanigans they try to pull, Canelo isn't making it to the end of 12 rounds on his feet.

Mayweather shouldn't feel compelled to do such a thing. He put on a humiliating clinic on Canelo already despite being the much smaller man.

i think you have a reasonable chance of being incorrect. Not probable, but reasonably possible

Canelo is a different fighter now though and it will give Floyd the opportunity to retire with another belt

I think there's absolutely 100% no chance that I will be incorrect, a lot of you guys are just wishing on a star here, this match will be less competitive than Golovkin-Lemieux, and shorter.

I don't care how skilled or unskilled Lemieux is, GGG's jab hurts and he was too afraid to try to get past it, same applies for Canelo.

Liam Smith isn't near Lemieux's level and look how much success he had putting leather on Canelo, now imagine how much leather a guy like Golovkin can land on him, he's only the most accurate puncher in the sport next to Mayweather.

That's one way to describe it. Obviously you've never seen the bout and it's always funny to see somebody describe something that they've never seen with their own eyes.

As far as Floyd being the much smaller man, well as you know he wasn't that much smaller than Canelo as Floyd accepted the fight at a 152 lb catchweight to negate whatever size discrepancy there would have been had it been at 154. And of course Floyd had fought Cotto at 154 the year before he fought Canelo, and held a 154-lb title going into the Canelo bout, so just going by the facts you're argument that Floyd was the much smaller man falls flat.

Of course Floyd was slightly the smaller man being able to fight at 147 while Canelo couldn't, but you can't say that he was the much smaller man especially when the fight was at 152 which inherently negates any such size advantage.

If you had watched the fight, it's impossible for any rational sane individual to come away from that fight and use the word humiliating to describe the bout. If there was anything humiliating about it, it was the look on Floyd's face when the score of 114-114 was announced, or the record number of times that Floyd flinched throughout the bout by Canelo feints. An example of a humiliating clinic would be something of a Canelo Chavez, or a fight like that where one fighter was clearly superior.

Canelo clearly had the deck stacked against him when he fought Floyd, from the ridiculous catchweight, to the hometown Las Vegas favoritism that gave Canelo a very small chance of winning the close rounds (the same thing by the way that many Triple G fans are worried about if there is a decision in Canelo vs Triple G, so if we are to take that concern seriously, they would surely be able to acknowledge this reality in Floyd vs Canelo). If you know anything about boxing, it's plainly obvious that Canelo did very well in that bout. Did he make mistakes, did he get hit by Floyd? Absolutely, and we should praise Floyd for that performance as it was one his Floyd's best. But at the same time we can see clearly that Canelo did better than most of Floyd's opponent, and he managed to land some of the most impressive punches on Floyd that we've ever seen anybody land on Floyd. You're free to dispute this claim and argue it, but the footage doesn't lie, even if you disagree with me on this, I can easily just show a few gifs of some of Canelo's best moments vs Floyd which are indiputable as to having happened.

As to the OP, it may not happen even if both Floyd and Canelo are victorious, because frankly I don't think Floyd wants that work, he knows how hard it was to eek out that decision vs Canelo 4 years ago, and he knows it's only gonna be harder now, especially at 160 lbs. Frankly, it may only happen if Canelo were to agree to a 156 or 158 lb catchweight or something ridiculous which as we know is the only way Floyd fought Canelo 4 years ago. If Floyd straight up fought Canelo at 160 lbs, win or lose I'd give Floyd all the credit in the world for daring to be great. Personally I think Floyd is going to have a more difficult time with Conor than many are predicting, and I think Floyd knows how small his chances are to beat Canelo at Middleweight, but I hope I'm wrong as I'd love to see Canelo vs Floyd at Middleweight. It was a fascinating fight the first time around for sure and it would be a pleasure to see again.a

Canelo would be KO'd by Jacobs you moron. You really don't comprehend this sport very well do you?

Canelo goes life and death with Lara and Trout should have lost to both, and loses to Mayweather all featherfisted all slick.

GGG fights massive slick MW with a 90% KO ratio with a skillset that easily matches that of Trout and Lara and in some areas he's superior, and you use this match as an indication he'll lose to Canelo, a tiny featherfisted JMW who isn't nearly as elusive as Jacobs, doesn't have the jab of Jacobs, the power of Jacobs, the height and weight of Jacobs.

Jacobs eviscerates everyone Canelo has been in the ring with.

I think its you who needs to take a cold shower.

Okay, I'm basic, then talk your way around this.

Canelo has a terrible time with fighters with an accurate jab like Trout, Lara and Mayweather. He has a hard time getting past it, Golovkin has one of the best, stiffest and most versatile jabs in the sport, GGG can literally stand in the middle of the ring and jab the hell out of him and keep him at bay the whole match, after all Floyd did and he's no power puncher is he? Add to that GGG has brilliant connect percentage and he throws more jabs than almost anyone in the sport. So that doesn't bode well for Canelo.

Canelo is a great combination puncher, but you have to actually get close to your target to land combinations and just how many flush jabs will he have to eat to land them, because no one else has attempted it, because they tend to get KO'd when they try. So there goes Canelo walking him down.

Canelo is terrible at cutting off the ring, well lucky for him he won't have to in this match, because GGG will be the one walking him down, and unfortunately for him... Golovkin is the epitome of an effective aggressor, GGG kind of cuts the off the ring off better than anyone else in the sport. Canelo will have nowhere to run to, he wil not be able to escape, he's no Lara or Mayweather in that department.

Canelo still gasses at the 6 round mark against guys who press him, although he covers it well now, he ends up fighting intermittently throughout the remaining rounds, GGG fights for the full three minutes of every round in the fight and has one of the best gas tanks in the sport. Oh No...That's not good.

Canelo has an amazing chin right? Has it really been tested at JMW, where there's no huge punchers?, Well there is Angulo and Kirkland right? Angulo was badly drained and it looked like his feet were stuck in mud even Hunter was trying to wake him up, sluggish and drained equals very little power, Trout can't crack an egg and neither can Floyd and Lara. Cotto's KO were a carefully orchestrated Roach engineered illusion that much should be clear by now. Kirkland is an accumulation puncher, and even he hurt Canelo, but he covered it well. The rest of his opponents were so past it or none punchers to begin with. Who's to say how good his chin really is.

Unfortunately for him Golovkin has the highest KO percentage in Middleweight history, in fact Marco Antonio Rubio has more KO's than Canelo has matches. Lemieux has 31 KO's to Canelo's 32 but also has 11 less matches than Canelo. Canelo's chin will not hold up when he is the smaller man in a far bigger division with huge punchers when he's made a career out of facing blown up Welterweight feather fists when he rehydrates to Light Heavyweight.

And last but not least Canelo's impeccable defense. However its far from impenetrable Floyd, Cotto, Lara, Trout, Khan and Beefy all landed plenty, and aside from Floyd and Lara none of them are nearly as accurate as Golovkin who will have the added bonus of walking a gassing Canelo down along the ropes and throwing shots while giving him awkward angles he may have not adequately prepared his defense for, or just punching through his guard entirely, that's something Canelo is not even close to being used to. His defense will be shattered in no time.

How does Canelo beat Golovkin? Explain? And while you're at it, explain to me how Canelo beats Jacobs?
