Looking over the rankings there & this has to be one of the healthiest states that British boxing has been in for some time HW - fury - mandatory for world honours (strong chance of taking 1) CW - bellew won't be far off- top 5 in most organisations LH - hhhmmmm SMW - take ur pick , froch , groves & degale & p smith all in title fights + cal smith knocking on door MW - Murray , BJS & Eubank jr all in title fights LMW - maybe a big year for Liam smith WW - brook , khan & at a push gavin all involved LWW - nothing much on international ? LW - crolla, Mitchell , burns , Campbell should all get something + Flanagan & Mathews SFW - hmmm FW - selby & Warrington will have shots at a title SBW -rampton, quigg , Galahad BW- j McDonnell Plus Paul butler. That's gotta be the best bunch in a while, even if only a few of those get shots
its got a lot more depth than at any stage I can remember, there is a lack of an outstanding top 5 p4p talent though, like lewis / prince naz in the past. think cleverly could still be a player at lhw, stu hall at bw, and yafai at flyweight could also be relevant. hopefully framptons fight will get good viewing numbers on ITV, attendances for live fights are getting better, as a result fights for vacant titles etc have a better chance being in the UK, ie dirrell vs degale. If that was 10-15 years ago it'll be in usa, with usa refs and judges which makes it harder to win close fights
Add Gavin McDonnell at SBW, that win over Malinga was very good for him and will open doors this year. Stephen Smith at super featherweight will have a shot at a title this year too so he deserves a mention, plus you have Walsh that I am rather impressed by that could be on the verge of a world title tilt by the end of the year.
Agree with all the above , very healthy in comparison to recent years, Again it's good to see the SMW division is so packed, and realistically you'd hazard at callum smith moving up to LH in few years. And the super bantam is looking promising with quigg, frampton & Galahad - also think jazza ****ens will go on to at least euro , fringe world level
