I doubt that anyone could say that any one person is responsible for the mess we have now, but I don't think it's a coincidence that the rise of the alphabet titles started when television became available to the masses, and even worse when they could watch any one of hundreds of TV channels. To people like us on ESB, boxing is life, but to the 'casual' fan it's an excuse to waste away an hour or two and they get a kick if they feel like it's an 'important' fight and Cable/Satellite TV gives people like that an opportunity to do so.

I can't think of many situations where the phrase 'less is more' could be more fitting, than to boxing right now.

I agree, what frustates me the most is a lot of people name the problems of boxing yet so little solutions come up or where to start.
I really want boxing to be big like it should but I dont know how to get it done.
In my opinion it is better if there is one organzation controlling the 4 major boxing organizations. No other organizations should be added anymore.

No doubt it's frustrating to us all, but everything is a 'brand' now and boxing is no exception. As long as someone stands to make a lot of money, Mr Average gets screwed. Even the mythical Ring title has it's own agenda. I'm well past the point of judging fights by titles and watch them because of the fighter/s involved. That way, I'm always a winner :good
