Well if your judging by what he did in his time then surely Manny Pacquiao should be in the top ten? The fact of the matter is that Fitz didn't fight in a great era, and although he dominated it the sport he was fighting in was vastly different to the sport Robinson, Hagler and Armstrong fought in.

You can't isolate era's, guys who fought in great eras will be rated higher it goes without saying. The Klitschkos have dominated the heavies like few others have but you won't find them on many top 10 heavyweights list. Fitzimmons three weight triumphs are impressive, but the competition he fought to get them doesn't compare to the rest of the top 10 i'm afraid.

With P4P , I first look at quality of opposition ,whether there were wins in different divisions, longevity, dominance.I mentioned Jofre ,because I think he dominated his division.I would put Loughran above Hearns,Napoles, and Arguello.
Saddler above Arguello.SRL beat Benitez,Hearns Hagler ,and Duran, that should be enough to get him in , imo.But who do you leave out to make way for him?
I didn't even put Louis in there, it's very hard to make a definitive list when there are so many that can make a rational case for themselves.
    Whitaker,Chavez,Mayweather?
I don't have the luxury of ",a few years", so this will have to do.

What you and Pachilles are doing is "H2H Greatest" P4P lists. It's altogether different than . They are too speculative and are more or less fallacious.

Who are the greatest ten fighters in your opinion based on their experience and accomplishments?

    10. ross

benny leonard, pep, duran and ross give me fits trying to order them.

also, i find it pretty difficult grappling with greb's and fitzsimmons' (and langford's to a lesser extent) resumes without film to back them up... just how do you know when you're imagining a set of circumstances in the right way if you can't see it unfolding before your very eyes?
