thoughts on it.. i believe floyd an manny are back an fourth number 1! but im bothered that wlad! is so far down under donair even. i mean doesn't wlad have the same problem roy jones had in his best years? there is just no comp! i think he should be number 3! Jones remained #1 even thru fighting bums. im not even a Wlad fan. but Damn give him sum credit!!!:bbb
Donaire's a far more skilled, versatile fighter than Wlad. Wlad's been very dominant but the dreadful standard of his competition has to be taken into account. It's not his fault, he's fought all-comers, but it still has to be held against him when rating him P4P. How would Wlad fare if he was the same size as his opponents? Most have him in their P4P top 10 (although I don't) but there's no way he's top 3. No ****ing way. Also, he shouldn't be mentioned in the samw sentence as Roy Jones. Ever.
point is aint that what Roy did all those years.. and ALSO! Wlad as beaten all the #1 contenders and has all the belts wit nowhere to move up..
I said Wlad has beaten all the top contenders but most of them were ****ing dreadful, as well as being much smaller. Not his fault but that's how it is. Roy's resume destroys Wlad's and he was on a completely different planet when it comes to skill. They're not comparable in any way. I can't see how anyone could say that Wlad's a better figher than Martinez, Donaire or Gamboa, let alone Floyd, JMM or Pac.
It comes down to interpretation of the P4P rankings , myself personally i rank fighters P4P from the following criteria ; ability , form , resume , level of opposition beaten Others see it differently , i.e. i do not rank the Klitschko brothers top ten because i beleive there variety of skills is so much lower than the guys in the lower weight divisions that they just dont warrant the ranking , then there's the mindset that they have abolished a complete division for a decade , and that warrants a ranking , and a high one , again debatable and fair
yea but thats not fair to the heavyweights.. of course the lower weights are gonna be more skillful. jus because of the weight most part and being faster to react. i think wlad should be up there p4p. jus because his division has bums. is not his fault. but ratings an stats. he has everytime beaten the number one contender. that should count for more then donair and martinez atleast.
