Confusing thread. If it's on what they did across the whole year, which it seems to be, maybe, perhaps, SRL isn't in the race.

If it's about who was the best P4P boxer active that year SRL comfortably for mine, but it really doesn't seem to be about that.

Larry Holmes won the Ring Fighter of the Year and i can't quite remember KO mags winner.

I thought it read 'who was the best in 1982' alone.

No, Hearns beating Benitez and Pryor beating Arguello were far better achievements.

Think Holmes won KO's FOTY too.

That said, I'm pretty certaIn that Hagler won the year end p4p poll following Leonard's initial retirement and Sanchez's death.

Pryor was KO's fighter of the year for 1982. Ring's top 3 were Holmes, Pryor and Chacon,

I think I’d have to go with Holmes here.

Gomez, however, arguably had the best 1982 with a string of defenses at 122 (pouncing back from his loss to Sanchez the previous year) culminating with his KO of Lupe Pintor.

And that victory over Alexis Arguello would be too hard to top.
