Donald, Byrd, Chambers, Sykes, and Estrada in no way are they getting him ready for tall boxer puncher Like Wladimr:huh
Good point, I think its more a case of thats just who they were able to line up as opponents for him, I dont think it was done on purpose that much to avoid punchers. He will be in for a rude awakening when he fights Wlad.
I agree... None of those guys did Povetkin much good in preparing himself to beat the 6'6 Wlad Klitschko! The choice of Estrada for a tune-up before Wlad makes no sense to me at all???-( Maybe their were no tall guys available at the time... who knows?
I made the same point a few weeks back. I have a strange feeling that Povetkin cant take a punch well at all and needed more time to work on his defense in the gym before he even thinks about fighting Wlad. Povetkin didn't look all that good against Chambers early on, and would of lost if Eddie wouldn't of gassed out IMO.
I like Povetkin but man he would take savage beating from Wlad. He went to the sam peter school of defense, however, he does use pressure and is skilled inside so I'd like to see Wlad face an aggressive fighter like him. Still, I think it turns into a demolition but could be interesting for awhile. Personally, I think Wlad looks better against Orthodox fighters since he can utilize the left hook more. It's not a good punch to thow against lefties. It could do some serious damage to someone like Povetkin. I think Wlad is gonna look to go at Povetkin or Valuev next. I think he's growing tired of Haye's antics and doesn't want to waste more time with the drama queen.
Good post, I agree. Though there is a big difference between taking guys like Bryd and Chambers best shots, compared to Wlad's big straight right hand. I think Povetkin will be made to order for Wlad, and this one fight I dont see getting past the 6th round. Povetkin will go down a few times, and be stopped in the middle rounds. He just dont have enough power to give Wlad a real scare, and I'm afraid his great workrate wont matter much either, especially when your hitting nothing but air, like Chagaev and Iggy showed us how hard it is to get past the Klitschko jab.
