He looked very old and tired to me. If Hunter had any power whatsoever, he would have KO'd Povetkin in the later rounds. I think Wilder is wildly overrated. But, if Povetkin fought Wilder, he would run the risk of serious injury with his slowed down pace, and face-first defense.

Going the distance with a very good, younger heavyweight like Hunter is hugely creditable even if I do think Hunter should have got the nod. Problem for Povetkin at 40 is the only way is down. He should get out now.

    He should get out now.

Unless he faces Ortiz or Whyte, he's going to get hurt versus the top boys.

He’s one of those that I’m able to get behind because of him being a classy guy. Makes it easy to root for him either when wanting the other guy to win

Sure, he's probably not at his best anymore, but doesn't mean he can't keep going since he is still performing at a high level. He now becomes the 'live dog' in the big fights instead of the favourite he might have been years ago, I guess. But he might still have a big upset in him yet. The Wilder fight is still interesting. Joshua rematch won't happen but that fight has become interesting again now Joshua is paranoid about exchanging and can't clinch like Wlad. He should keep away from Fury.

They are gonna rematch 100%. Povetkin's Promoter Ryabinsky, just confirmed on his Instagram that they are working on the rematch soon. Ryabinsky is very rich, so he will make Hunter a very nice offer. But the catch would be that it will probably take place in Russia.

Hunter had his hands full with Beterbiev as an amateur only a few years ago.

Someone like Majidov or Makmudov would body him.

Good points, Hunter ate some big man shots from Bakole, I wonder how he would take Makmudovs

It's a shame that Sasha didn't sign up with Matchroom 10 years ago and gain the popular exposure, amongst the masses, that he is now currently getting. The world would have been his oyster.

His style, to myself, is a mixture of Eastern and Western European which is (was) very effective and fan friendly.

He really could have been a superstar beyond what he was (is) given his forward attacking approach.

I hope he carries on. Won't win a world title now but will still be involved in some cracking Top 10 fights on the undercards.

    Great fighter.

I guess a fight with Whyte could be possible next year since they were already planning that after Povetkin laid out Big Pricey.
