(check the main news site everybody knows)

Is this not one of the silliest promotions for a fighter you've ever seen? Ridiculous..

Povetkin himself has nothing to do with this and dislikes it, Sauerland just likes pulling this type of cheesy ****. :patsch They should let him be the Cotto-like personality that he is and not promote him like he's a WWF character, but I understand that they want to make Klitschko-Povetkin huge and this is one of the ways to do it.

Anyways.. don't know why I felt the need to post this. If you can think of a sillier promotion for a fighter, then I'd love to hear it. Later!

An army of Povetkin's would make the HW division fun again.

Assuming we had a way to differentiate between them all.

Another silly promotion would be Don King trying to sell Valuev as an angry german freakshow.

Povetkin isnt a big name in Germany yet! And lets be fair Sauerland does a really good job in promoting his boys and providing them with tv exposure at an early stage of their pro career.
I for my part find this kind of promotion quite silly ,too. However, the Germans like this kind of stuff. Povetkin must get used to it! Pro boxing has a lot to do with entertainment and showbusiness.
Povetkin is a great fighter, but lacks charisma and markebility outside Russia. You have to create an image of him which is sellable to a foreign audience.
Sauerland did an amazing job with AA who now is a superstar in Germany.
Just trust in him and his ability to market a fighter!!

Rock Newman having Lance Whitaker legally change his name to "GoofI" would rank up there.

    :DGood point,emanuel!!!

I would have used that term for AA's entrance music a couple of years ago if I hadnt understood that pro boxing needs this kind of flamboyant show elements.
