Alexander Povetkin defeated Eddie Chambers to become Wlad's mandatory on January 26, 2008.

    Five years.

Let me give that some time to sink in and then repeat...five years.

As for "most anticipated fight," nobody is anticipating this fight after his performance against Huck.

And let me make another point: five years. I know that it is technically the same point that I have already made twice, but I thought that it was so important that I should mention it again.

Step up and fight somone proven. Hanks is a good prospect but is not a world class contender IMO.

And unless Waldo throws his belt in the bin he's fighting Povetkin during the summer, correct? So why are you complaining?

No Povetkin aready had two chances!!!! Why did he not fight? He quit two times! One time by just not showing up to the press conference. Povetkin is a joke. He just ducks WLadimir until he thinks he has a chance or where they think they can make the most money. I still doubt that Povetkin faces Wladimir this summer. Povetkin will duck Wladimir a third time.

Yeah we shall see... We will only see the fight if Sauerlands wins teh purse bid. They pissed out two times already because they lost the purse bid. Povetkin is a disgrace of a heavyweight contender.

Atlas stopped the fight from happening in the past and he's since been fired..Povektin signed a new contract that he will hounour. ..If anybody gets stripped it will be Wlad....Wlad is done at top level. Done. He hasn't fought a tough contender in over 5 years and he wont be starting now.

After five years...five years...of ducking Wlad, I have no confidence that this fight will actually happen.

    Five years...

Who should belive this story? Wladimir has not fought a though contender in over 5 years? Chagaev? Chambers? Peter? Haye? Thompson? And little Povetkin is this though contender? Much better than these names? Povetkin ducked Wladimir twice. Man I cant imagin your hate against Wladimir if Wladimir would not show up at a press conference... but with Povetkin it is not that bad?
And I can imagin that Sauerland will **** out again if the lose the purse bid. But what I am talking about... in your eyes Wladimir is ducking Povetkin:patsch

Thats right.... Povetkin had plenty chances.
First one have too see the situation. Sauerland wants Povetkin to fight at ARD. Wladimir just wants to fight at RTL (also for a possible Rematch, but Povetkin will get his ass kicked anyway). Sauerland wants to win the purse bid very bad, they hope that Wladimir will give up his belt because he does not want to fight ARD.
I ****ing hate these guys! Wladimir is the ****ing champion and the contender should fight at his stage! Why do they try so hard to get this fight at ARD? They hope that they can get a belt by winning a purse bid. So that little Povetkin can get champion without fighting Wladimir. But maybe they will see that they have to fight Wladimir at his stage and at RTL and at his conditions! Who is Povetkin and Sauerland that they can demand anything from the champion?

Chagaev? Chambers? Peter?...What did they ever do..They were beaten handily by Povektin and Hilienus, they dont get much credit for the wins yet they are great victory's for the champ...They're nobody's. Zeros..There's decent HW's out there and we get a fight with Pin-who?...Wlad is done.

Povetkin looks to be slimmed down in the one picture

I wonder if he finally shed that baby fat he carries around

Povetkin is a funny case, his career was amazing until he pulled out of the first fight with Wlad

then his opposition went back like 5 steps but his work with Atlas showed improvement

Then with Atlas vs Boswell he looked the best i have ever seen him

then he dumps Atlas looks like **** vs Huck and then fights a non entity in Rahman proving nothing about where he is in his career

If he actually thinks he is ready for Wlad this time I hope he is then hopefully his tune up is vs a guy who will show he is not as bad as he was vs Huck and that minus Atlas and with the new trainer he has improved and not taken backward steps

I really never accused Povetkin of ducking Wlad, well maybe sometimes but for the most part what Povetkin did was smart, he knew he couldnt beat Wlad then so he developed his game and confidence. Wlad wasnt going anywhere and now he still has the big fight just a few yrs later

It is not a duck in a way that Povetkin and Sauerland thinks they cant beat Wladimir. The ducked him twice because they lost the purse bid twice and they were not happy to see Povetkin fight at RTL.
