When Povetkin won the WBA Regular Title it made him mandatory to Volodymyr the WBA Super Champion. The question was how soon would that fight have to take place and it appears we've got our answer from the WBA........Spring 2013!!! He gets to milk that paper title for over 1 and a half years plus possible additional delay due to "injuries". Jesus ****ing Christ. :patsch

Expect title defenses against Holyfield, Rahman, Mormeck, and Ustinov.

That's cool, because it is a worthless title anyway. Is anyone even interested in seeing him defend it?

No, his title means he's Klychko's mandatory and will have to finally fight Klychko, which i was happy about. The WBA has given him almost 2 years before he's forced to fight Klychko though. Ensuring that he can make 4 or 5 bull**** "title defenses" against bums and the WBA gets to collect their sanctioning fees off his bogus title.

Wasnt that Chagaev the #1 contender? Which he just defeated. So Povetkin it seems as though now he is at a point where he has some free time before a mandatory.

the people in this thread realy aren't grasping this.

I'm not talking about Povetkin's obligation of defending his bull**** title. I'm talking about his obligation to fight Klychko. WBA Regular Champion means you are obligated to Unify with the Super Champion, Povetkin became Klychko's madatory only he won't have to face him for almost 2 years.

Yes this makes sense. Povetkin will defend the belt a few times. If he succeeds, he'll take his payday against Kltischko, possibly with the same sort of favorable terms that Adamek secured for his fight with Vitali.

I don't really want to see Wladimir/Povetkin anyway, so I have a hard time understanding all the bitching about the paper title.

What I am tired of is having the WBA being singled out and harressed day and night.

People are sorta going well the WBA sucks. Aint that the title David Haye had, yeah I guess it wasnt so impressive as I thought Haye winning his HW championship. I have had enough!!

**** povetkin and his bull**** belt and trainer, nobody cares about this ducking disgrace.
Wladimir= ring champion, wba champion, wbo champion, ibf champion, and vitali is the wbc champion.
Everything else is meaningless.

WBA obliged to meet with Vladimir Klitschko Alexander Povetkin until spring 2013

World Boxing Association (WBA) has obliged the world champion in the heavyweight version WBA / WBO / IBF / The Ring 35-year Wladimir Klitschko meet with the owner of "regular" world title in the same weight, WBA 31-year-old Alexander Povetkin until the spring of 2013, according to ITAR-TASS . Recall that Povetkin won the vacant WBA title in Saturday's match with the Uzbek boxer Ruslan Chagaev , Winning a unanimous decision. Klitschko is superchempionom WBA, and by the rules of the association must defend his title in a fight with "regular" champion. According to Sauerland from Kalle Sauerland Event fight Klitschko-Povetkin is unlikely to occur until the spring of 2012. He also noted that one possible venue is Moscow.
"Before the fight can not organize a variety of reasons - quoted Sauerland" ". - Sasha and Vladimir have to protect their championship belts. Then begin serious work on the definition of the venue. There are different options, including in Moscow. Much will depend on the financial proposals of the Russian organizers. "

What's the bad thing here? I am tired seeing guys Povetkin's or Chagaev's size mismatched against that 2 meters giant. I enjoyed the fight in Saturday and felt finally like i was watching a real heavyweight fight between two good boxers. I respect Wladimir as a boxer and consider him to be a future ATG, but have NO INTEREST in a fight between him and Povetkin.

Just let Povetkin fight Holyfield, Mormeck, than maybe Haye or Boytsov. THESE are the good fights, not Wlad.
