What fight were you watching? Apart from the odd shot here or there, Parker did not engage AJ at all and AJ was not really pressured by Marker. Povetkin bought the fight to AJ and was prepared to risk shooting his load in order to win and he really went for broke.

Good effort from Povetkin, at 39 to come in and fight to his last ounce of strength credit to him.

Didn't have to get up after the first ko

Gave a good fight to the bigger and stronger guy

I've under rated Pov for the most part and feel vindicated post fight.
13 years,231 rounds held WBA title.
That usually is the definition of the more experienced fighter. 231 rounds compared to 84 rounds

Povetkin the more experienced fighter IMO was supposed to show up to fight. He did, but the experienced fighter got knocked out. Almost like he had no survival skills.

Was AJ's shots that dropped Pov, harder than the shot that Wlad landed to drop AJ?

I think AJ proved if he could rise against the power of Wlad, he'd take all Pov had. I picked AJ to win.
Povetkin had 13 years to be where Aj is at. AJ did it in 5.

Never heard the idiom 'to fall on ones sword?'. Google it. Yes ive heard shield as well, it doesnt matter what you use, sword, shield, both are common phrases depending on your geographical area of the world.

The only term in boxing I’ve heard is with your shield. It’s probably the most common or most used saying.
