it's not allowed. as far as i know, once you have over four pro fights, then you can't go back to amateur boxing.
Not as hard on this slow pace put forward by Atlas as most are. Yes going back to the amature ranks is kind of ridiculous, but making Alex the best fighter he can be before going back to the top 10 is a calculated move that could pay off against the Klits; I mean nothing else has so far.
Wow, is this Atlas' decision or Povetkins? At 31 years of age the guy's either got it or he doesn't. Povetkin may not be ready for a Klitschko yet but Atlas should be slowly improving his opposition. This is completely stupid. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.:huh
Im pretty sureRocky Marciano did this , he went back to amateurs after turning pro, and was beaten in the 1948 golden gloves competition , then went back to the pro circuit.
To the Ring and any other credible organization; please drop this clown from your top 10. The Chambers and Byrd wins weren't yesterday, and he hasn't done anything since to warrant a rating.
they left out one part..... "unless one of the klitschkos are fighting for their country, then maybe i will go back to the jr olympics"
He can go back to amateurs? :huh Chagaev was stripped of his gold medal in 1997 World Championships because he had 2 fights as a pro.
The International amateur boxing federation has decided to allow boxers who turned pro after the 2008 Olympics to take part in the next Olympic games. But as if that wasn't bad enough someone decided to further expand eligibility limits all the way back to the 2000 Olympics. It means that ANY pro boxer who last performed in the ams back in 2000 is now eligible for the upcoming Olympic games.
