I think Hearns "plan" was to force Fury in to a Whyte mandatory defence.

It's like this, it could cause Fury huge problems, Hearn has backing, Sky Sports, DAZN, now if Whyte is mandatory and Hearn forces it to purse bids then he could easily win it and then Fury is on Matchroom/DAZN/Sky platforms?

Nope, can't be done, Fury has an exclusive deal so Fury would essentially have to drop the WBC title.

But then Hearn would have a stronger hand in Fury Vs AJ negotiations, he can sit there and say it's either AJ on a huge mega fight for this deal or ill force the mandatory and win the purse bid.

Can you see the problems Hearn and Whyte could cause Fury, in terms of the WBC title, that's why I was convinced Fury would be made Franchise Champion to avoid this mess.

This makes things even more tricky for Aydamn - any potential return plans up in the air now.

I was really looking forward to the rematch.

Fury vs Whyte, why not? If both men are ready in December it’s surely better than Whyte in a tickover and Fury v Kabayel.

Trying to think of other possible opponents who could save the show this month.

Joseph Parker is fighting Junior Fa in December which is probably a big fight in NZ since Fa is undefeated but he would have been a decent opponent, if not PPV.

Gassiev just fought a walkover against one of the Seferi brothers so he's probably in good condition and would be a quality fight on paper.

Takam has been in talks with Fury apparently so he's probably training although not a great opponent after Chisora dismantled him already.

Like others said if Povetkin is actually ill that fight is not happening in January.

Whyte vs Fury would be genuinely salty too, because Whyte dropped Fury like a bag of cement a couple of times in sparring.

My first thought was that he’d tested positive for PEDs again. Hope he recovers quickly. It’s killed 2 people I know in the past week.

Without doubt it is a better fight and would capture everyone's imagination here in the UK but we all know it's not happening. We have the BT v Sky issue for starters. For me it's just Hearn putting it out there so he can accuse Fury of turning it down.

So Whyte says.. but it’s hardly a good source.

    Charles Martin
    Michael Hunter
    Martin Bakole

My pick would be Bakole, he is here in the U.K. So no need to fly him over, wants an opportunity and would be easy to make and I think he'd take it like a shot.

Hunter, too dangerous for Whyte and Hearn has already cut him loose so I'm not sure either would be willing to do it, especially Hearn.

Charles Martin, interesting choice, coming off the back of 3 wins, ranked highly with the IBF and is willing to sell himself, he sold his IBF title, not sure if the money is there for him but it's worth looking at.

Sorry to hear mate. Definitely is concerning for Povetkin because despite being very fit, he's very heavy so there's obviously a greater strain on his organs.

Bakole is a great shout because Nelson would NEVER turn it down even with a lack of prep. Can't be PPV though.

I like Bakole for this, he would take it in a heartbeat, so would Nelson.

Let's give Bakole another chance at really throwing himself in to the mix and that Hunter defeat doesn't look as bad now.

I don't think Bakole would be that expensive either.

Ok had a look on Twitter, Bakole is training, been sparring with Joe Joyce for his fight with Dubois.

This must be made, there really are no excuses to overlook Bakole for this.
