Huck looked like a drunken dockworker with no training, and Povetkin still almost lost. What more needs to be said?
the fight was great, had it been two heavyweights on HBO or ESPN2 as just a heavyweight fight at the top of a card it would be talked about as one of the best scraps we have seen from heavyweights in a while. but the fact its billed as a heavyweight title fight and povetkin is a "champion" it takes away from the credibility.
Povetkin has some boxing skill but needs to become a better athlete. He looked very tired after a few rounds. No wonder people say he has no power, because he's exhausted.
Povetkin seemed to have endless stamina a few years ago... that was his biggest strenght. I guess he became "world champ" and started eating burgers...
Kind of how I see it too. Technically it was no great shakes. It was sloppy and somewhat dirty, but the ref did nothing to help that. But, it was fun to watch, and it was close, and that goes a long way at making up for the lack of sweet in the science. Good point.
It was a **** fight between 2 shitty fighters.......... Just shows how awful the division is if these 2 are near the top of it. Bert cooper woulda mullered these jokers !
What if it had been a boring one-sided demolition by Povetkin, would have you been cheering your lungs out?
Exactly. People are going to ***** no matter what. I bet they'd watch the MAB-Morales trilogy and find something to cry about.
I agree with the poster, altough Povetkin has to receive some credit for standing up to Huck's rabbit punches and pressing forward while compleely out of gas for the last half of the bout. Huck is a disgrace to the sport , as are all the home refs who let him get away with his dirty boxing.
Povetkin is only noteworthy to me for building up an 0 for Wlad to eat and then cheating Wlad out of it.
Entertaining battle between two men. Lots of heart and determination was shown. There was nothing to be ashamed on. I never liked Huck before but he got me cheering for him in this fight
