He'd do well. Povetkin is a very good fighter.

I'd love to have seen the best HW's of the 80's vs the best HW's of the 00's.

There'd have been some great stylistic match ups.

Tyson and Holmes go without saying imo.

Not sure about Spinks. If Povetkin had better foot speed i can see him being the clear winner but i see his hooks coming up short of the target against Spinks.

Bruno would be a great fight. A war. Think Pov would pull it out late

I suppose you are picking the losing versions of Douglas against the winning versions of Povetkin yeah?

And Ferguson was fast and had better movement than Povetkin. The guys of today don't have any legs.

    10's definitely better than 00's.

    My ranking:

    10's
    80's
    00's

I think maybe top 10. Besides the obligatory Tyson and Holmes, I believe Povetkin would have trouble with Witherspoon, Pinklon Thomas and Tony Tucker. The last 3 all being 50/50. I have never seen anything in Povetkin that suggests he would just run everyone from the 80's over. Weaver, Berbick, Dokes? Yeah probably. Everyone else...no

He'd KTFO old Holmes just the same as Tyson did.

And Witherspoon.....come on......he was the epitome of a come forward brawler.

Potvetkin has an amatuer pedigree which has prepared him for every type of opponent the 80s woulda thrown at him with the rare exception of Tyson, who brakes any and ALL molds.

There was NO BLUEPRINT back then, except wait for him to self destruct. :-(

He would do alright. He would get smashed against Tyson, but no shame in that as most heavyweights would. Holmes would outbox him. Spinks might do well against Povetkin. Most people remember spinks for his fight against Tyson, but spinks was a very good boxer that met a peak Mike Tyson.

I think Povetkin would do well, i feel he is slightly underrated and outside of Wlad, hes probably the best hw out there.

I really want to see Wilder, Povetkin, Fury and Haye mix it up so we can have a genuine winner.

I think Povetkin, along with Byrd and Haye are Wlads.best wins

Tyson is the only favorite, Holyfield would be a war.

Holmes beats him at the start of the decade but Pov beats the version that lost to Spinks. He would do very well.

    Povetkin loses to:

    Mike Tyson
    Larry Holmes
    Michael Spinks
    Tim Witherspoon
    Pinklon Thomas
    Carl The Truth Williams
    Trevor Berbick
    Evander Holyfield
    Frank Bruno
    Donovan Ruddock
    Tony Tucker
    James Bonecrusher Smith
    Greg Page
    James Tillis
    Mike Weaver
Lennox Lewis (who had like one fight in the 80's, but 1-0 Lewis was miles above Povetkin)
