Povetkin is an easy fight for Wlad and not a very good fighter in general...

At least when viewed on a historical scope.

For contemporary standards, Povetkin fits in just fine, except that he will get the beating of his life from Klitschko and this is why...

Povetkin goes foward in straight lines, doesn't have very good upperbody movement and appears very stiff and straight up and down, stands right in front of his opponent, often drops his hands to punch which contributes to his poor defense, lacks power, and hasn't been in with a significant puncher.

Povetkin is fortunate enough to be in an era where the majority of heavyweights are unfit, skill defecient, and overall unathletic.

He is a Margaritoesque type of fighter that wins his fights by coming foward, and smothering his opposition with an accumulation of punches, and either having a good chin, or not being hit with anything significant enough to hurt him, IE not being in with a good puncher, nor anyone with much boxing ability at all.

His style is made for Klitschko.

Klitschko will make this look easy as he dictates the fight with his jab, Povetkin being too stiff to move, and lands right hands almost at will.

Povetkin who's tools are effective against a stationary opponent or a guy that lacks power, will not work against Klitschko who moves and hits hard.

Povetkin will not be able to get in position to land his combinations because Klitschko will keep him at the range of his jab, and move or clinch if Povetkin manages to get close enough.

Povetkin's best win was against a guy (Chambers) who at the time, was stationary, inexplicably leaned back, but kept his gloves foward when trying to defend, stood straight up and down, and lacked power, but was easily hit and won mainly because of his heart and conditioning.

Some people have said that Povetkin has regressed in recent fights, which could be a possiblity considering he stands right in front of his opponents and gets hit easily, something that won't give you a long fighting career in the heavyweight division.

Either way, his chin will be the deciding factor in how long he lasts, but he will get the beating of his life and will not have a long fighting career after his encounter with Klitschko.

Brilliant matchmaking by team Klitschko in defrauding the public into thinking Povetkin is actually a real threat, (given the fact he looks good on paper due to his amatuer career, KEEP IN MIND, Ibriganov won the silver medal and Chagaev had a good career as well), but in the end will be another boring, one sided beat down with a severely outclassed opponent.

    Exciting...

Did you complain when Haye fought Monte Barrett and got a title fight scheduled out of it?

Look, Klitschko has to fight the guy. Give it a rest, ****. You are making us Haye fans look bad.

This won't be an easy fight, Povetkin is a world class fighter and a tough opponent for Wladimir. I just hope the newbies here look more into Povetkin before the fight to get an idea of who he is and what he accomplished in boxing before Wladimir fights him so no one says he beat a "nobody" if he wins.

povetkin is a really good fighter but he's just to small for wlad. the one thing that is surely missing nowadays in hw is lack of good and big fighters cause almost all wlad's opponents are smaller than him...

Outside of his brother, I think they would all be fairly easy fights for Wladimir right now.

Size might be a factor up to a certain extent...

But it's his skill that's lacking...

Perhaps if he was trained differently, he would be a different fighter, but he wasn't...

He's fundamentaly flawed, and I doubt it can be fixed with 1 Atlas training session.

When has there ever been a good 6'7" or 6'8' fighter in the history of the sport?? Besides the Klitchko Brothers! These guys are for real and would dominate in any era. Obviously, and big heavyweight puncher always stands a chance to pull off an upset.

You left out an option for "I'm sick of Axe Man"

It's not that you don't have some valid points man, it's just that you bring them out in the most irritating way.
