Povetkin is being stupid fighting Wach when he's already mandatory for Wilder

He should have just faced someone like Dimitrenko, why take the risk?
When he already has the WBC shot lined up..

Wach is a solid top 10 fighter, granite chin, strong, big puncher.. its a dangerous fight...

Rybanisky is a top promoter he matches his fighters in good competitive fights but this is a stupid risk to take... Povetkin is a big puncher but I can't see him KO'ing Wach, Wach will be there all night.

    Risk??
    What risk?

Wach is one of the least skilled fighter Ive ever seen fight for a title.
    Hes a light puncher.

Hes mopst noted for being battered pillar to post against Wlad and somehow managing to stay on his feet, in a fight it turned out he juicing for.

What threat could this walking punch bag be to Povetkin?

So looks like with Povetkin there is 1 heavyweight out there that fights legit contenders instead of doing the normal "Tyson Fury Job" in fighting bum after bum until getting a shot at the champ :deal

Would be nice if others contenders would start fighting contenders as well . . .

You think Wach's a threat? :huh

It just bolsters Sasha's resume a little more and earns him a little more bread at the negotiating table when he gets the rematch, that's all. Beating another ranked contender who poses no stylistic risk is a good thing when chasing a payday.

Wilder's holding a belt and fighting tune-ups, why can't Sasha as the mandatory do the same?

How many other 6'6+ guys were available to fight in Nov?
Plus they have to give Sasha rounds and not fall down, Wach is perfect.

Cause Povetkin's tune-ups are actually dangerous.

    Worse than Manuel Charr?

Wach has heavy hands and can do damage but I doubt he connects with Povetkin more than 3 times a round. If Povetkin KO's him...then we know there's some serious power in the Russian. We'd have to check him for roids.

it is certainly a risky fight.. and Wach certainly has heavy hands..

Didn't you see the Wlad fight, everyone in the world had respect for Wach after that, he gave Klitschko a tougher fight than anyone else has in recent years including Povetkin. He wobbled Wlad amd made him fight ayba high pace the whole fight

The only fighter that's ever knocked down Povetkin, amateur or pro, is Wlad, if I'm mistaken. Even if Wach lands, Povetkin's got the chin for it.

This is a showcase fight for Povetkin. He can't go out and fight like a complete idiot, but there's a healthy margin of error for him.

Povetkin is already a powerhouse capable of knocking anyone out if they let him, it would not be surprising if Povetkin knocks out Wach, since his delivery of his Tsar bombs are pretty accurate.

Povetkin and his promoter want to deliver interesting fights for their fan base by stacking their cards with many contenders and prospects in competitive match ups. Basically the opposite business model from their Western counterparts.
