I thought this might be Hughie coming out party but he plodded through a lot of that. He has to ask himself, does he really want to be a fighter. You have to want it. Just didn't seem like he did
Nothing has changed with him, there has been no change in tactics, technique or attitude. Never throws a left hand and lamely fails to disguise the same overhand right that never lands clean. He needs to leave his dads training camp if he has any kind of aspiration.
My mates watching ESPN abroad. Absolutely laying into Hughie by sounds of it. Absolutely pathetic fight that, started off well, think he took a right hand and lost interest. British level at best Hughie. I actually think Hughie could easily fight at cruiser, not that’d make much of a difference
He actually started out quite well, then just reverted to backing off after 4 or 5 rounds. Disappointing for him to be honest. Everytime I ask myself is there a reason he cant throw a straight right, I mean he either must have an injury or their cant be an excuse. It's been noted time and time again.
I’ve stuck up for him so many times on here, there’s potential but he’s not willing to take a chance on himself. He fights within himself. He has no identity.
Terrible signing from Matchroom in hindsight. It's almost as if they signed him so Sky can talk about Tyson more. Horrible boxer to watch with awful negative and dirty style.
Povetkin looked really bad as well, but he is an old soldier. His points drubbing of Hughie ought to show Peter that it's the end of the road. There is no sensible way forward now as they've had the multiple setbacks and more than once chance.
After that, anyone who has "hughie Fury 2nd round KO - 8/1" bet on their online account will be getting a promo code sent first thing Monday morning.
Same. I will still support him but he is too content to cruise it and just expect the decision. The only positive is that I don’t think anyone will knock him out. The lad can box for days, just has no game plan. He actually reminds me of Rangers when we are at our worst. No creativity in the final third. Fury gets in range and just throws that idiotic right hand. Why on earth didn’t he try to attack Povetkin’s fleshy midriff? I despair. He and Broner really frustrate me. Two guys with enormous talent who will just cruise to the distance now with not nearly enough productivity or creativity.
I can only think that the plan was to sign him, pay him well, treat him well and hope that this, along with doing the same for Saunders, will tempt Tyson to follow suit.
