Lots of good fights for Fury: Oliver McCall, Fres Oquendo, Danny Williams, Julius Long... @UnleashtheFURY
We should give Hughie credit for surviving 12 rounds. I mean, still an achievement to have survived against these top guys like Pulev and Pov and Parker... That deserves an award.
Hughie needs to get in touch with Dillian’s dealer, helped him go from deckchair to contender...who knows where better peds could take the skirt under Peter’s stewardship.
Fighting like Camobell did against Loma and surviving derservea an award. Running and holding for dear life like Helenius did Whyte, Malik scott against Ortiz and that Hughie does against of anyone of quality doesn't deserve praise.
Can't help but notice that Joshua ktfo of Povetkin in round 7 and gets slated for fighting him. Fury 'survives' in an awful 12 round fight and he gets respected. It's a funny old world. There's no more excuses for Fury. It's like the man has no soul, no fire in his belly.
Been looking at the compubox stats for AJ/Pov and Pov/Hughie and they are very similar through the first half - till AJ dispatched Povetkin. Pov is almost metronomic in his output, but compare Alexander's power output to Hughie's in the back half of the fight. From the 7th to the 12th, Pov has mullered him with more than double the power shots landed and thrown. There is nothing happening from Hughie. 8/27, 9/36, 6/25, 6/29, 4/21, 20/48 = 53/186 v 3/10, 3/6, 2/11, 7/17, 5/17, 3/20 = 23/81 Amazingly Povetkin only threw 44 jabs in the whole fight and landed 12, yet he has comprehensively outworked and outlanded Hughie. Desperate reading for Hughie, as if we did not already know.
