Povetkin is only about 6f1 but he can use his frame perfectly. He made Christian Hammer look very amateurish. Hammer was just surviving 12 rounds and took a hell of a beating by Sasha. It was clear 120-107 UD win for Povetkin.

I can't wait Povetkin to land his deadly combinations to Wilders fragile mandibe. WBC title will change hands if the Bum squad steps into ring with Povetkin in 2018.

Well I have never doubt in his skills but he seems to slow down a bit and show us his age. By the time Wilder or Joshua fight him, he will be probably 40. Povetkin from 2 years ago would've stopped Hammer.

Povetkin is fading. My hopes of his winning a belt are fading too :(

    Father Time is undefeated.

Povetkin won a gold medal, is only 6 feet 2 inches tall, but won the gold in the superheavyweight dividion!!! Wilder as afraid to fight him, had to be protected. Povetkin still has some gas left in the tank..................he could knock Widler out, beat Parker, Joshua will be a test for him though..............

Povetkin still owes me sportsbook money for not winning by a KO, though. :D

Hammer is a poor supposedly "top 10" HW, so this win for Povetkin really hasn't changed how Povetkin is perceived.

Still, should be an interesting matchup if he ever fights Wilder - I just hope he fights better than he did against Klitschko.

Not having a single person on the planet he Hammer in their top 10.

Wilder povetkin would be an interesting match up, almost gtd 1-6 rounds KO, couldgo either way IMO.

Yeah he's definitely slowed down a bit... That being said he'd have stopped Hammer regardless if the latter was actually there to fight and not survive/spoil.

Sorry but I’ve never seen the fuss about this guy, sure he looks good against Hammer ect but against Wlad he was just charging forward and getting rocked by a jab,Wilder would beat him as would AJ.

Wilder will never step in the ring with Povetkin. Can we stop discussing it.

Talk up Povetkin vs Parker or Joshua far more likely scenarios.

Povetkin really isn't nothing special. People love to hype him up on here, yet they be the same people that hate on Joshua,Wilder etc...i find him boring, flat footed and he doesnt hold a great amount of power.

If Wilder and Povetkin do ever fight, its an easy win for Wilder...then watch them people find an excuse.

 Povetkin is not very good and has never been very good. It's why he hides from unbeaten fighters.

Povetkin is technically **** and not even very good at his one game plan. What kind of gap closing fighter can't measure the gap? A bad one you dumbshits, a bad one. What kind of gap closer can't judge the gap against track fighting fatmen? A **** one that's one kind. What kind of hook wielding ******* has no answer for a clinch or alternative game plan for when their hooks have been shut down? Not a great one.

People have already started with age excuses for him just like they did Wlad but the truth is this crop of HW champs would have whooped them no matter what era they fought in because neither one of them learned how to box for ****.

What technical display has Pov to his credit? His ability to hit a standing target? Walk down men who have a four round gas tank? Be wrong about the gap distance in most exchanges? A complete lack of guile in his footwork? His ability to keep one gameplan the whole fight no matter what happens? His one posture? His utter lack of any attention to position?

Wladimir Klitschko was technically ****, proficient at only amatuer techniques and Tyson proved it. That was the point in Tyson fighting Wlad the way he did. He spoke about it and all. Wlad can't box for **** all he just beat a bunch of fat, slow, undersized, and old men who can't cope with an in-shape HW with one proficiency. Pov is just the one of those ****s. The only thing that made him stand out was he hid from Wlad and any dangerous title contender until it was painfully obvious he could win and even then his ploy failed him.

He's a *****, he's not very good, and his record reflect that. **** Povetkin.

Fury and Wilder are the most technically gifted HWs active today. Wilder and Fury will beat him with body language alone. The punches will be a formality. This is why the ***** that has always hidden behind a real champion and only picked off some weak leftovers and no hopers his whole career is going to fight either Parker or Joshua. Because he's a chance in hell against them and none at all against Bronze Bomb and even less against Gypsy King.

They can move and punch at the same time. They can turn. They can control gap. They can be deceptive with their feet. They can plot with their posture. They have a sense of where the **** they are in the ring. They can adapt in the ring. They can utilize a bigger array of punches. They know how to bait with more elaboration than a feint. They can clinch. They both understand how to work line of sight and hit you with punches you never saw coming. They know how to use professional level techniques efficiently.

Pov's got no chance in hell against either men and never did. No version of Povetkin could ever beat Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder.

I’ve not seen his recent fights, but I agree is the most s killed heavyweight fighting today

He would have his hands full with Ortiz and Joshua but I think he quite decisively beats wilder

Watch what Tyson Fury done to Hammer. Ten times better performance than Povetkins.
