Wilder is too big he should knock out povetkin who should really be a cruiser wilder fighting luis ortiz is a much better test
Potvetkin was lunging vs Wlad, and Wlad obliged by falling on him. About the 3rd rd, it became jab, cross, lean. Jab lean. Jab cross lean then Potvetkin breaking rhythm by swinging a wild L hook and Wlad grabbing him. Wilder has neither the legs, nor the upper body strength to do that Potvetkin. Wilder's ONLY chance at victory is to throw potshots for 2-3 rds, make Potvetkin THINK he's tasted his power, the drill him with the good stuff. This aint going 7 rds......either Potvetkin will KO Wilder in a rd or two, or Wilder will hypnotize Potvetkin with jabs and movement then put him to sleep with lethal R hand. :thumbsup
Yes he is. And he has fought almost exclusively short boxers. The only notable exception being Wlad, that had no trouble in tossing him around like a doll. Size matters
How many rounds did it take Wilder to knock out the Drummer Boy? or the other 2 bums he has fought recently? Pov is heads and shoulders above any of them.
Povetkin may be much smaller, but he is infinitely better than Wilder. Povetkin's defence isn't best, but he is a great offensive fighter, I struggle to see Wilder doing well against someone against that calibre
Good post. And yeah, Potvetkin does tend to throw out defense altogether when he thinks he's felt his opponents best shots..... Which is TRULY and undeniably Wilders best hope. Potshot and only throw about 75% of his power, then get Potvetkin feeling safe, similar to Liakovich, then give him 100% and put him to sleep.:think
People need to nail their colours to the mast here. Plenty said Wilder wouldn't take this fight and I think pretty much everyone was surprised to see him happily agree to heading to Moscow. He deserves an immense amount of credit if he wins. Let's not move the goal posts now he's actually taking on a legit challenge.
yes its a good challenge but we need to be honest here povetkin is not some monster he shouldn't even really be a heavyweight
I wholly agree. If he wins this fight it will be the single BEST win in HW boxing since Holyfield beat Tyson in 96. Not saying Wilder's up there with Holyfield in terms of ATGness, but winning this fight, in Moscow, would certainly put him on the path to being a top 4 HW in this era, which maybe a new Golden Era considering Joshua, Parker, and Tyson Fury* are all still young and gonna be around a while. *all talk...he may take a yr off if Wlad ices him, but he'll come back better than he currently is.:deal
