This. Wilder has leverage, since he is the WBC champion, undefeated, and there is a lot of public demand to see him fight Joshua. Povetkin has almost no leverage, since there isn't much demand for Joshua to fight Povetkin, Povetkin is old, Povetkin is past prime, and hasn't had any significant wins in several years.

Povetkin also knows that this is most likely his last shot at a title and a good payday, so Povetkin knows he has no room to negotiate.

Potvekin has no choice but to take whatever offers for a title shot are in the table

One of the few times I agree with you. Povetkin obviously doesn't have the leverage Wilder has, Wilder maybe make less than Povetkin but that doesn't mean Wilder doesn't have leverage with his belt.

I hope he ends Joshua hegemony and puts beginning to heavyweight competition for the 3 season World Boxing Super Series.

Has the Joshua-Povetkin fight even been signed yet? Not according to the latest reports ... a week after the 24-hour WBA order, they still haven’t come to terms.

I’m calling it right here ... Povetkin/Ryabinski aren’t going to agree to terms, forcing a purse bid. Then Eddie is going to have to put up a LOT more money than he expected to get this fight in the UK to outbid the Russians (the kind of money Wilder had already agreed to, most likely) and he STILL may lose out to the Russkies.

And if that happens, will AJ go to Russia? For less $$$ than he could have made going to the USA to fight Wilder in a much bigger fight? Or will Eddie and AJ drop the WBA belt? And if that happens, what’s next for AJ?

Could be an interesting scenario. Let’s see how it plays out.

True same thing happened to Wilder so its possible.. I'd assume that they would just falsify a fake drug test like Wilder team did and run home.

I'm not sure we will all fall for that one again thought.

Well I would hope so. He doesn't have a title. And if he was "fighitng for his country" he would still be an amateur.
