    Does Kazan have rich oil fields or something?

    They seem to always make huge splashes as far as big sporting events go, I know their football team Rubin Kazan buys faded stars for a ridiculous amount of money

    I didn't know much about the city (I think you know more than I do). But from a little bit of research it's referred to as the sports capital of Russia (its actually where the next FIFA world cup will be in twenty eighteen).

    I did not think they would put Gassiev in with Chucky at this stage although I would have picked him to win. Gassiev has great activity and would likely overwhelm him late.

    Kazan was the host city of 2015 World Aquatic championships as well.

    Regarding FIFA World Cup, it takes place in Russia, Kazan is just one of the 11 host cities.
