Yes, but it's a trainers job to pump his fighter up not bring him down. And his frequent public statements regarding Povetkins readiness for the bout probably shattered what little confidence the man had. Now, he has destroyed his career, perhaps irrevocably, and walked away from a 2 million dollar payday. Is that better than remaining undefeated and fighting for 100,000 dollars in his next 5 fights? Atlas has destroyed this kid's career.

****... I have been trying to find out.... but this Povetkin thing became the #1 priority.

I heard they are still talking to both Valuev and Briggs. It WILL be one of them

The last time Peter fought in Germany he claimed they pumped a noxious gas into his hotel room through the air vents the night before the fight.

It was probably just his own flatuence. Have you seen the guy? Imagine the crap that he must eat.

Not too disappointed with this fight, Povetkin had no chance judging from his videos. There aren't really alot of alternatives for decent opponents anyway...

So how much more time does Atlas need to get him ready?

    2 yrs?
    3 yrs?
    5 yrs?

My guess is he'll be just about ready when Wladimir retires.

good question.... IMO the years it takes for Povetkin to be ready will greatly depend on how much longer the Klitschko brothers fight
