Nobody is pretending it didn't happen. It did happen, in 2008, when both were just up and coming. Would Pianeta beat him again? It was competitive the first time (two points on one card) so hard to say. To pretend that Pianeta was a legit contender when he fought Ruslan ... look at the names on his ledger between the Wlad loss (three cans) and tell me what he did to vault himself back into contention. Heck, look at his entire resume -- people want to say Duhaupas is terrible, but he's honestly the only decent result on Pianeta's entire ledger, so it is the win over Johann in 2008 that seems to justify Pianeta's contender status (unless you credit completley washed up Oliver McCall and Frans Botha as meaningful wins).
Negotiations pushed back till November now cos of Povetkins fight with Wach. http://www.*****.net/2015/09/30/news/wilder-v-povetkin-negotiations-to-begin-after-november-4 Wilder will probably go and cash out vs Wlad now. Povetkin is a clown.
A Povetkin fight will pay more. The Russians are ready to throw krazy money at that fight to land it.
By making the Wach fight , he's given Wilder the opportunity to make another defence. Anything can happen in this sport. Povetkin knew the October was the negotiating period. He should have had his fight wrapped up by now to move forward with Wilder , but WACH isn't for another 6 weeks. He's put half a year between himself and Wilder. Stupid move.
Duhaupas is not terrible. There are both sides either heavily underrating him or talking him up like he's some legit title challenger (Wilder defenders). Duhaupas is a typical Euro-level fighter (he was never European champion like someone mentioned). He defeated unmotivated Manuel Charr by MD (his best victory, although I felt it was a clear UD) and has 2 clear-cut losses by UD to Pianeta and Teper. Pianeta himself isn't an elite contender, but coming off Klitschko loss, he defeated 2 journeymen and an undefeated prospect before fighting Chagaev. Still, his only 2 losses are against accomplished champions Klitschko and Chagaev, while Duhaupas, besides losing to Pianeta himself, also lost to Erkan Teper and Wilder. Won't comment Eric Molina though, I have no idea which McDonalds or KFC did they pick him from. Wilder/Molina was one of the worst heavyweight title fights in years.
Sure they should. If Sasha loses, he's no longer the mandatory. So the bids would just hold up the champion's schedule if it turned out they were bidding on a fight that doesn't happen -- the WBC would have to install a new mandatory or order an eliminator. Povetkin's side knew the score. He fought in May, for less than one round. He could have had his tune-up over and done with, but chose to wait. Wilder will defend in January and now the mandatory will be in like May due to bad planning on Team Sasha's part.
actually his already earned his mandatory fight even if he lost to wach his mandatory challenger wilder cant defend in januray for one reason, the Russians will win purse bids, the Russians will decide when the fight is. If wilders rushes to book a fight in janaray and the Russians then win purse bids, the Russian could decide they want to fight wilder a day after his proposed fight and wilder would have to cancel in a way its a great move by povetkins team because wilder now cant make another defense of his title because they will set the date for the fight and they can leave wilder go stale
No, they cannot decide to make the fight the day after the purse bids or whatever. That's just silly. Show one instance of that ever being allowed. And, yes, a mandatory challenger can lose his mandatory spot if he loses a fight before the mandatory bout takes place. The WBC rules are on the organization's website. You can look all of this up. Or you can just keep making stuff up.
I mean if wilder schedules a fight for janaray they could schedule it for the day after that. and no the mandatory cant lose there spot unless its another eliminator fact is purse bids are scheduled for next month, the fight is then to take place any time between januray and may, the Russians decide when, so wilder cant just decide to have a fight early in the new year
Amateur boxing? Wtf, lmao...!!! Some fans look at boxing differently than others. To me Perez was never a true hvw. You guys thought that that fight would be competitive. I waited patiently to see if he could take a hvw punch. He couldn't.
Look at this schizophrenic , he now calls povetkin a clown ! You need to look at your posts before povetkin fought wlad.
You can't beat Roberto Cammarelle four times without good BOXING skills. That's my point. I'm giving that example cuz Takam, Perez, Chagaev, Huck, Chambers are not enough for you obviously.
