Povetkin needs to get off his treadmill to nowhere, and fight. I think he is waiting for both Klitshcko's to win, then he'll fight one of them.
I bet Povetkin was unhappy when Haye took the Wlad fight. He could have had a good chance of winning a title too....
He's hoping Volodymyr wins so that the WBA will promote him to WBA "Super" Champion and Povetkin will fight Mormeck for the vacant WBA "Regular" title, or so the rumor mill has said. ****ing travesty.
Povetkin fell victim to the HBO hype. I remember the HBO heads singing praise on this guy. Then he hooked up with Teddy Atlas and then dropped of the face of the earth
The big fights are there for him if he wants them. I'm sure Wlad and Vit Klit would easily like to add his name to their resume after they're done with Haye and Adamek respectively. Problem is Teddy Atlas is a ****wit hater of the Klits and won't allow his charge to make him look foolish against them.
Povetkin started on the fast track. Since then, his career has been a big disappointment. It's as though he's not even relevant anymore. I'm sure Atlas deserves a lot of the blame. That guy hasn't helped a fighter (or a viewer's desire to tune in to FNF's) in ages.
At this point, I would to. Eddie's gotten better since then. Povetkin's gotten Teddy Atlas since then. That's the only pre-fight breakdown I need to make my choice.
He doesn't have to hope for that, any outcome (except a draw, wich will never happen or No Contest) will promote the winner to WBA "Super Duper Ninja Turbo" Champion. So he only has to wait to after the fight, then he can fight freakin' Mormeck (seriously man!?!) for the WBA "Regular Bowel Movement" Championship. Gotta love the WBA... no matter if there's a Undisputed Champ out there with all the belts including their own, they still would have another "Champion" walking around atsch Teddy Atlas and Povetkin get rewarded for ducking the Klitschko's and fighting bums instead...
this...^ i remember reading about this guy a decade ago believing he was really gonna be something, too bad, wasted talent...
