Some casual boxing fans just do not get it. Amateur boxing is ****ING HARD. You have no time to prepare for a particular opponent. You do many fights in a row on a tournament. You ae not fighting handpicked tomato cans. Every final is between the best two fighters. Povetkin won them ALL, for many years in a row.
Povetkin looked really impressive and accurate in those early fights. He dominated Chris Byrd with authority. Against Chambers it was good news/bad news. The good news was that he outworked Chambers, never seeming for a moment to stop punching. the bad news was that he couldn't land a solid, accurate punch.
David Haye may on 9 nights out of 10 be no match for Wladimir Klitschko. His personality naturally stirs up controversy, but those who dismiss his achievements at the heavyweight level are underappreciating his performances. Tomasz Bonin was a tough, once-beaten fighter with some skills who would still give more heavyweights a hard time if he chose to leave Poland once in while, while Monte Barrett, though never top-10, was a worthy, experienced, and dangerous opponent whom Haye roughed up rather badly.
Monte Barrett was KO'd by Cliff Couser 2 or 3 fights before he fought Haye. In the second round no less............... Bonin was never anything at all at Heavyweight and where is he now? If he was any good he'd be back fighting his way into contention.
This will be a carbon copy of the Ibragimov fight with Povetkin unable to get in and land with Klitschko being his usual 1 - 2, tentative self in breaking Povetkin down.
When do you see me discredit Wlad? I say he lacks an inside game, but I agree that he's a good fighter and would be competitive in any era. His competition leaves a lot to be desired though... Povetkin is not good.
But in order for Atlas to find success, he has to cross a language barrier for one, and he also has to realize that Povetkin is pretty much set in his ways. It will be very hard to break him down back to the basics, because Povetkin is fundamentaly flawed. At this point in his career, it's probably too late to make a drastic change in his style, and it's not even conclusive he can pull it off because he lacks other attributes that may be necessary for him to be effective.
No he doesn't. Damn, how many times do I have to school ya'll. Did I not break down Chagaev to a T? This will be the same situation. Haye poses a MUCH MUCH bigger threat than Povetkin who has 0% chance of winning.
And that depends on how good Povetkin's chin is also. If Povetkin can take some punches he can be succesful against Wladimir. But I still think Wladimir will be too much for him.
Povekin have no enough pop to keep Wlad at the bay and stop him, Wlad have enough to stop or outbox Povetkin, so either Wlad by KO or UD.
If you do not know them you have absolutely no business being around this forum. Go to some knitting forum. Maybe there you would sound a bit less like a complete ******.
Atlas is 0 and 99 on his fight predictions. Atlas will doom this fight with another anti-Wlad prediction. I think Wlad will let his hands go in this fight-like Chagaev fight-and TKO Povetkin, say, round 10. Both Chagaev and Povetkin are tough dudes.
