Povetkin’s age will always make his fights a bit unpredictable. I got quite a shock at how much a fighter can decline in the Haye vs Bellew and Wladimir vs Jennings fights. Povetkin is a highly skilled boxer though, that does not rely on athleticism anywhere near as much as Haye did. You could clearly see in the Price and Joshua fight that Povetkin is starting to slip, and is more vulnerable than he used to be. I still pick Povetkin, including if it goes to the cards to win.
I hope Pov's wife's not planning on being in the audience - she won't like watching him chasing (The) Skirt all night.
Agreed, the Povetkin that ko'd Perez in 60 seconds would go through Fury quickly but that was over 4 years ago and he hasn't looked as good as that since.
"Povetkin isn't dangerous after 4 rounds"... Ask Carlos Takam (KTFO in 10) ... Johann Duhapuss (KTFO in 6) right after Wilder struggled with Duhapuss and got a Pizza Face out of it! Manuel Charr was KTFO in 7 by Povetkin... Cedric Boswell was a major undefeated contender but never fought again after Povetkin destroyed him in the 8th round... There's lots of examples, he just looked Weak and Clumsy when he fought Joshua, maybe it's age caught up with him or lack of Roids fighting in the UK where only their fighters get a pass on the Roids Tests!
Did Povetkin split with his trainer? He looks fatter than before. I'm a big fan but don't think he takes this seriously unfortunately..
I think Peter and Hughie might have put too much stock into a younger man beats an older fighter. Hughie is gonna have to do something other than just box and move with Povetkin he gonna have to trade with him to win on the cards. Povetkin imo looks slower than ever but I still think his skills and power will make Hughie reluctant to throw. Povetkin by points
