But the positive test from Stiverne actually came from a legal energy drink He consumed. Povetkin was on an illegal substance.

The UK anti-doping agency UKAD has been responsible for testing Russian athletes since 2015, after RUSADA lost accreditation, so why the hell does the Russian sports ministry come in to play here? Or are you just speaking out of your arse? Povetkin screwed up his use, simple, it happens to every elite level athlete. Just imagine how many American heros would have been caught had VADA existed in the 80's and 90's.

I think thats a good ruling and I hope its that simple. My only concern is that Povetkin may counter with Stirvernes positive test (I have no knowledge of this, just read on this thread). I think Ryabinsky Povetkins manager will be audacious enough to counter claim, he did it with Wilder.

Ostarine is legal as well it's not an anabolic steroid you can purchase at health stores or on eBay it's in a variety of supplements.

Oh man thats stuffed up. I mean, from an energy drink? Really? Damn! These athletes need to be more educated on nutrition like never before.

And thats just it isnt it. Twice! Far out, you'd think they'd know better. It'll be interesting to hear what Povetkins got to say about this.

Lucas Browne was banned for ostarine too.

    Benefits of Ostarine

    Increased lean mass gains
    Better strength
    More endurance
    Joint healing abilities
Anabolic (even at doses as low as 3 mg)

Selective androgen receptor modulators may be used by athletes to assist in training and increase physical stamina and fitness, potentially producing effects similar to anabolic steroids. For this reason, SARMs were banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency in January 2008

To me the fight should go on. If Stiverne failed a test and fight wasn't cancled you don't cancel if the other guy then fails unless it's a anabolic steroid like stanozol

Banned by an athletic agency doesn't make a substance illegal. It can be purchased legally you're not supposed to take it if you're a professional athlete. Much like the substance ingested by Stiverne.
Bottom line is both guys failed a test for a substance that is banned. If you didn't cancel the fight when Stiverne tested positive you shouldn't cancel the fight now. You have to be impartial. If it was an anabolic steroid different story but once you let Stiverne slide the same rule has to apply.

Yeah he should just admit he used it but he screwed up his dosage. When an athlete is in this predicament they have no excuse, taking/learning and cycling PED's are just a part of an athletes life as training and competing
