Oh, I could totally see them doing this, sadly.

Would even give Holyfield some small chance, even more sadly.

. I could see him taking a few rounds off povetkin for sure and looking at the state of povetkin after 12 rounds on saturday I'd say evander is in no worse shape than him either

Sorry but a prime/current type question about holyfield and povetkin is a no brainer. Povetkin wouldn't last no length with holyfield circa late 80's early 90's!!

Prime Holyfield Vs Prime Povetkin.........no question Evander would have too much speed for Povetkin......yes I know some will argue you can't match up fighters from different eras .......but I think there is pretty good evidence in this case.

I remember watching on Eurosport years ago when the much fancied Povetkin entered the ring and the commentators went all gooey saying that it was a privilege to see Povetkin at work in the ring (As if Povetkin was the next Ali or somethin!). My experience of Povetkin was limited at that time having only watched a couple of clips on Youtube.

The commentators were all gushing about Povetkin about his achievements and his possible future achievements that all they had to say about his opponent was that they had not actually seen the opponent before.........the opponent was a certain Eddie Chambers!
In the early stages of the fight Chambers looked pretty handy and many times made Povetkin look pedestrian.......even the commentators had to admit that Chambers was actually pretty good.

Chambers however became a bit lazy and in my opinion threw away the fight by coasting in the later rounds.
I came away from that fight impressed by Chambers but not very impressed by Povekin.......simply put Chambers was too fast for Povetkin......but Povetkin had a stronger desire to win.
If a peak Holyfield was in their against Povetkin he would have gone to war with him and hit a little harder than Chambers.

    Holyfield wins easily.

If they fought today though Povetkin would be the heavy favourite over the nearly 50 year old, even if this 50 year old could STILL give many a youngster a good whooping!;)
