nice huck jab his first of the fight

huck backing up a lot which is unusual for him

huck running around the ring perimiter while afolabi slowly plods around following

nothing happening this round as huck does not want to engage

    nice afolabi uppercut

huck throws a combo not accurate

    afolabi uppercut part blocked

    huck continures to circle
    big right afolabi

huck flurry at the bell , great head movement meant they all missed and crowd boo afolabi showing off.

afolabi wins round 10/9 as huck only fought for 10 secs

    4-3 afolabi

    jab and nother jab afolabi

left hook huck then smothers his own work worried about a counter

big long right deliver from way back lands down the pipe by afolabi

huck lands 2 nice clean shots but afolabi seems impervervious to his power and does not blink and huck yoiu sense knows it.

very sloppy maul after punches miss falling into each other

huck throws a flurry that lands and wins the round clearly

    4-4

technically this is a very poor fight, so much bombs , so few connects

huck trapping afolabi against the ropes throwing a few punches which iss and then tying up

afolabi being smotherd and getting outworked if by no accurate punches

afolabi work sloppy as both men are tired

    huck deep breathes
afolabi to relaxed and laid back

at range the fight is all afolabis
    up close huck the better

afolabi gets pinned against the ropes and huck throws a6 punch flurry, nothing of any note but nicks the round on work rate

    5-4 huck

    nice uppercut huck

    afolabi shrugs it off

hucks quicker hands should make this easy work, but he simply does not fight when the fight is at range

afolabi loads up with the kitchen sink and it sails way off and over.

    long right afolabi

huck charge but afolabi ducks and avoids

afaolbai big right as huck charges

    afolabi clearly wins the round

    5-5

all rounds bar 3 have been very close and scored as you like.

so scores could be anything from the judges depending on what they like

Haha, sloppy but fun fight, I liked how they both went at it at the end. Respect.

In this situation I felt the judges were quite generous to the guest fighter, 116-113 for Huck is about right. He landed the more meaningful punches or at least his blows looked a lot more damaging but Ola landed too, nice body work.

I always love the respect between fighters and they knew it's just business. It was a much better fight than I expected.

Thanks for the RBR. No surprise it was sloppy, both these guys are "loose" fighters. Tough, but short on technique.

I,too, thought that 115-113 was a little bit too close.
Very seldom do I disagree with sean on an outcome of a fight, but I for one would never have scored that fight a draw. Huck did enough to win this fight IMO.The Spanish judge is my man:good
By the way what a sore loser and pathetic human being that African is!
Ludicrious statements he gave in that interview with GErman tv after the fight!!
    This guy has no class!!!:-(

As for Povetkin he could have won his encounter with Nolan in the very first round if he had wanted to.What a mismatch their fight was!
According to Povetkin's promoter Povetkin will appear in the ring vs tba(probably Sam Peter) in march 2009 before he takes on Wlad.

Povetkin said he wants some fights more and he wants to fight against Wlad in 10/2009, not earlier.

Well, his promoter stated that Povetkin would fight in march 2010 vs tba ( my guess is that either Boswell or Sam Peter will be in front of Povetkin's fists).

Nolan was the definition of a filler fight for sheer name dropping and getting a paid workout. Nolan does not prepare anyone for anything, not for Sam Peter, not for Klitschko, not for Haye. Utter garbage.

Plus I disagree heavily on the Huck scoring. You cannot refuse to acknowledge Hucks "wild flurries" that landed at least partially, and then give Afolabi the round for landing on Hucks gloves EXCLUSIVELY. I hope you didn't count that "jabs" that were not even in range, or barely touched Hucks gloves or body. I gave Afolabi 3-4 rounds top.

Well,K-Man! Now we know more, dont you think so!
Nolan had never lost a fight by way of ko or tko before. He had won 27 out of 28 outings to a ring in the paid ranks before he squarred off against Povetkin.
I for one-like Roach, like many experts and fight fans out there, had tought that Nolan would be survive a couple of rounds and make Povetkin sweat a little bit in the ring.
The true definition of a tune up fight. It turned out to be a total mismatch quite to Roach's and everyone else's surprise.
Props to Povetkin for making that fight look like a true mismatch. You always need 2 for a tango.
